Stephen and I found the local range and went out to fire lots of rounds using a Taurus, semi-automatic handgun. I've fired a variety of weapons before, but never a handgun so it was a new experience for me. The kick is very minimal (compared to what I'm used to, the rifle). We had a good time but I need to go back for some more practice. Practice makes perfect.
Speaking of rifles, some kind older man let me fire off his M14. The rifle was used by Soldiers in the sixties (the rifle I'm most familiar with is the M16). Anyways, the kick wasn't bad and Stephen told me that I hit several bullseyes so I guess I'm not too out of practice.
I put up a bird feeder outside my window. It was like The World Association Bird Smackdown once it was noticed. The House Finches were going nuts and trying to claim the feeder as their own. In the end one particularly red House Finch won the day. I felt bad for the Mourning Dove though as it's body was too big to fit on the feeder. It kept trying to make a landing, to no avail. It eventually wised up and picked the fallen seeds from the ground.
