...a form of training for the flight

So, look. I've decided to post about this because I want a record of when I made the choice to persue this particular endeavor of mine. You don't have to read this. In fact, if you do read this, I don't expect you to believe it. But that's not for me to worry about ( Read more... )

i'd gladly take a move to london to go train with Forrest and Dan Edwardes, too. That looks like a spectacular indoor area they have for initial training, etc. Alas, I haven't found anyone in this area yet. There is a guy in the Newark (DE) area who is registered on the American Parkour website, but he doesn't log a lot of activity on there, so I'm guessing he's not really all THAT into it. I'm not sure it's worth going to ask him if he wants to go climb around sometime. Especially since I'm barely entering my training. At this point, getting into shape is my biggest first obstacle. Once I tone up and drop a few of those hated LBs, I might look into joining a class or a team in NJ or maybe even NY if I decide to move or that the commute would be worth it. Those are the closest places with a community large enough to mention and/or any sort of training/instruction available.

for now, though, the journey must begin with myself. the commencement begins inside and finds its way out, into my physical self, and ultimately, beyond me to the world around.

i am greatly looking forward to this journey and the things i may find along the way.
