Oh shit, oh shit! It's the full moon and Jordy's out there...somewhere. Scott and I just barely got away, but an old beat up car is a hell of a lot better than a tree in the case of a werewolf attack. Scott was driving pretty erratically, probably shaking about as much as I was, and swearing a lot under his breath. He calmed down a little when we ( Read more... )

"Turing tail I see!" and He's after me.

The trees fly by as I run, crashing through branches. He's behind me but I'm faster. Not fast enough, but faster. I need to face him.

I swing under a branch, skidding on leaves and mud. It barely slows me down. I hear when He hits it, full tilt. *Cough* "BITCH!"

I don't turn around. I need a weapon...

I try circling around but He catches me in a clearing. "I'm going to gut you, like the mangy cur you are."

Finally I spot it. A fallen branch, and my salvation. If I can reach it.
My distraction almost proves fatal. Tybalt lunges forward and throw myself sideways, the knife cutting into my arm instead of my chest.
I'm not sure how but I manage to roll and come back up holding the branch.

He lunges again and I swing, connecting with his hand, like hitting a baseball (baseball? don't have time to think about that now.)

The knife goes flying, spinning out to the dark edges of the clearing. My arm screams at me in protest and I ready myself to hit him again, but Tybalt is following his knife.

I can't let him get it.

Noises in the woods. Usually, that means vampire. In this town, who knows anymore.

I couldn't just sit around anymore. that woman that attacked me and almost gutted me is still out there, there's any number of things in the night ready to disembowel people, and the Slayer is gone. Gotta keep the city from burning down while she's away.

I pick my way through the underbrush as quietly as possible, and see someone going for a knife, glinting in the moonlight. Well, that can't be good.

I draw my combat baton, a flick of the wrist slapping it open, and wade into the thick of things.

"I'd stop right there, if I was you."

I skid on the leaves, but keep my feet under me, sliding to a stop when the Prince's man appears.

"Your luck holds, minstrel." Tybalt snarls at me as he retreats into the woods. Leaving me to face the penalties for disturbing the peace.

My heart is beating fast, not slowed at all yet and I think that I should say something, but I'm not sure if I speak before the world unfocuses.

I notice that the shadows have sharp edges in the moonlight. I am suddenly aware that I am sitting on my heels looking up at the prince's man. "Forgive me." I say. "This was not my will."
