People, this is why water will be nearly as important, if not more important, than oil in the next century. This is also why hydrogeologists exist. So they can be like, "hey, guys, the groundwater is way way wayyy too fucking low!" when things like this happen.
Anyone know if India's government has something like the U. S. Geological Survey? I'd assume so, but I'd also assume it's way underfunded like other important agencies.
