Experts have called for obese people to be given gym discounts and for surgical waiting lists to be prioritised on the basis of weight loss.I think the government should subsidize gym membership regardless of someone's BMI. I may be like 0.1 or 0.2 BMI units away from being underweight (depends on the rounding as I recall, but I know I am not underweight) but I have reasonably high cholesterol. It used to be higher, but being married to a vegetarian helps cut down the cholesterol, but it still ain't great. And in general if the government subsidized gyms maybe more people would work out. They might still eat like shit (or start that crazy weight lifter diet of 'I can't take steroids but I'm gonna try every supplement out and see if you mix them all together it's like juicing') but at least they will be getting exercise, and I know that diet and exercise are the best prophylactic things a person can do for their health. But letting fat people into surgery first? Fuck that. Their ass ate all of the ( ... )
