The Chinatownesque plot wherein your daughter is your mother is how PREDESTINATION speaks to me

PREDESTINATION MOVIE POSTER - 2014 (R) mpaa rating

I find myself watching these kind of movies, film noir, and if they aren't in that genre, then at least they don't contain details that burst the bubble of imagination in my head telling me time travel and stargates are all around us.

This one took me a whole ten years to find. It is literally imposible to rely on the warring streaming companies competing with each other and too greedy to think about the consumer for a minute. What would be their response? I haven't watched enough time travel movies to have suggest this particular title.

They certainly aren't going to suggest a movie I might like if they aren't offering it as part of their currently streaming movies, for god forbid I should check one of my other streaming services to screen it.

You know what else I find myself doing? Filling in the gaps, and sometimes going off on a tangent. Fay Grim is going to be one of those movies that a future prodigy will remake because of its greatness. And there I was, hypnotized by Parker Posey, yet again, saying my name "Henry". Fantasizing that I was Henry Fool, yet again but diffently this time, more trained. By now I have see all the films I want to see with Elina Löwensohn, the Canadian, and whomever else. But wait, how can that be? I was also fantasizing being Angus James the publisher.

Say I'm on a date. Not the kind that I arrive bearing flowers and smelling of citrus cologne. Just one that is in a traditional boy/girl fashion and we both go to the cinema to watch Predestination. Would I be farfetched to explore the emotions behind a man who was the child of a hermaphrodite? so, when he decides to circumcise/Isaac his daughter, he justifies this by believing, since he gave her life, he can decide whether or not she's male or female (thereby killing a daughter by making her a man). Probably yes, because that's what this film is about. I believe most people would think it's about a young hermaphrodite who transitions to male. The end.

Why was she kidnapped then? We can see that throughout the time travel experience, Ethan Hawke visits various versions of himself, can we not? Let me try to get this straight in my head though… his upbringing as a bastard justifies in his own mind that he can change his fate by not allowing his daughter to give birth to him. Deep.
