How to flick flies dead. Slowly approach it, but don’t strike until it’s grooming and distracted

Why would this be a necessary index card

I was trying to convey alertness to violence in the movie by eradicating assumptions that main character wouldn’t hurt a fly

Why why why?  For real, because when I discovered it was humanly possible to eradicate pests like houseflies using nothing more than your finger, I believed it would make for an interesting video (to see in slow motion the impact of a flicking finger against the torso of a fly.)  I figured since nobody likes pests, it wouldn’t be interpreted like the harming of animals at the expense of filming a movie.

Plus, if the scene was placed early in the film, before any real violence occurs, then it may serve as a warning for things to come. I came up with juxtaposing the buzz sound a fly makes when airborne and heavy metal because I still remember hearing grunge/thrash metal for the first time and thinking what-the-dick! So this is the revised #indexcard that appears in Act One.
