I live for mornings like this.
There is no work today and class is more than two hours away.
I can sit with a cup of coffee and drink it slowly, how I love it.
I'm watching Lifetime TV and writing in my personal journal.
After class, Kayla and I are going out to dinner. I haven't seen her in ages, so I am looking forward to it. I don't think it will be awkward at all. :)
I'm going to invite her to go to the poetry reading at Lazy Daze tonight. I hope she will come. I missed last week and it saddened me.
There is a big bag of old vintage and costume jewelry sitting next to me, I'm about to go through it. Look for things I should give as gifts, things I should keep for my jewelry box.
Last night I finished crocheting a scarf for Gina. It is royal blues and violets. The purples make me think of our early friend ship (at least eight years ago!) where we would always wear purple, put purple glitter all over our faces and think we looked like hot mamas. Of course, her mother would always tell us different.
"What the fuck is all over your faces!? You look like goddamned eggplants!"
I miss Debbie.
Since Gina is moving up here tomorrow, I think we may go visit Debbie's grave. It's not more than a half hour from my school.
So many good things are happening. I don't know how to handle it all!
For the new year I created a book list. I put thirty or so books on it, and I add a little to it every week. I've read seven or so already.
Henry and June- Anais Nin
Nine Stories- J.D. Salinger
Siddhartha- Herman Hesse
Chocolat- Joanne Harris
Side Effects- Woody Allen
Lust & other stories- Susan Minot
Charles Bukowski- Barry Miles
I'm reading Utz by Bruce Chatwin right now, and I'm widdling my way through The Concise Focal Encyclopedia of Photography.
It's going to be a good day.
So put that record and dance with me, until the sadness is gone
