The tubes go in and the tubes go out...

Andrew is hooked back up to the respirator.   He couldn't breathe last night so they tubed him up again.  FARK. He's trying so hard to be strong. I still can't believe it.  This kid has had so many brushes with death and now he really truely only just escaped it.

Silly mistake and he's lucky to be alive. Severe head and neck injuries combined with nearly drowning on the bottom of the pool.  Luckily one of his friends dragged him out and knew enough CPR to keep oxygen to him until the ambulance arrived.  I hope they had the sense to cradle his head but then when you're panicked those minor/major details don't always occur to you.

He's able to move his arm a little but can't feel nor move his fingers and hands. Highly unlikely that he will ever walk again. I keep expecting him to just mend and go back to normal but he's really done it this time. He's not going to fix.  This isn't just a broken arm or leg, or burnt off eyebrows that we can tease him about for being an idiot.  This isn't going to go away.

At least he's alive for now. That's a positive.
