Current Prediction:
March 20-21st, +/- 1 week. As noted in the mini-update, this is pushed back one week relative to the past prediction. The blooms just aren't likely at all to appear this weekend, as would've been implied by the prediction. There's a possibility the blooms will be out in 1 1/2 weeks, if I'm anticipating wrong. But I'm still guessing it'll be 2-3 weeks or so at this point. Note: On March 20th, Anime LA is hosting a
potluck picnic at Lake Balboa themselves. If the date happens to fall around that weekend, note that I probably won't plan anything and I'll just recommend that you guys attend that instead. Otherwise, obviously, it's a free park, and it's not like one is committed to do anything with anyone.

Some of the buds were showing green tips. These are the ones that one would think might be in bloom in short order, like within a week or two.

Still surprisingly small. It might be that size doesn't matter? I've been taking the size comparison year in, year out just in case.

Kind of a multiple stages thing. For obvious reasons, I'd have to believe this small cluster is probably in bloom right now.

Nearly fully bloomed flower.

A small cluster that's fully in bloom, but also close to dying. :/

Did manage to find a couple of branches pretty much in full bloom.

Fully bloomed blossom. So gorgeous, so perfect. And as I was shooting this, a moment later, I got buzzed by by a hummingbird, of all things, who was checking the flowers for nectar. :O
