Labor Day Insanity Plan 2008 - Preliminary Draft
- Friday - Grab... whoever, drive up north to Sacramento area. Grab hotel room, hang out with some people up in the area for Sac-Anime.
- Saturday - Go to Sac-Anime Saturday only. Again, spend night in Sacramento area.
- Sunday - Check out, drive to Bay Area (SF, San Jose, or elsewhere?), have fun relax times, check-in at hotel for overnight.
- Monday - Small amount of fun times, then drive back to LA
Upsides:
- Hang out with more people than picking only one destination or the other.
- Accounts for the fact that Sac-Anime is a smaller show.
- Get to travel once this year to Nor. Cal without the stress of a sizable con.
Downsides:
- Still overall more expensive than just having fun times near LA.
- Added expense of adding a second NorCal destination.
- Extra day spent means one more night of hotel to take care of.
- Extra day spent means no recovery day afterward.
One known risk: Labor Day weekend is a code deadline for work.
Estimated Expense of Plan at moment: Approx $200 in gas, $200-$400 for hotel, $40-100 effective deferred maintenance on vehicle, $20/badge at Sac-Anime, unknown food expenses. = $440-$700, plus $20*travellers + some quantity for food.
Still, this plan seems feasible. Who feels up for piling in a minivan and having some fun come Labor Day? :D
