I Had To Fill Up $30 In My Tank Just To Get Around the Weekend

Fairly long weekend spent at Mikomicon. Quick thoughts and highlights:

• Damnit, Mikomicon! Will you please do something about that $30 day rate? More than a few people I know were put off by the fact that the day rate was so high that they decided not to come outright.
• I took pictures, but not a lot. I have more concert shots than anything else, I think.
• Highlight: having dinner, twice, with the lovely burmecian_storm and xkokuux, who were part of the reason that the weekend wasn't a total waste of time.
• kamuishirou1999 has the easiest con dealer hall job ever.
• The new configuration of akai SKY is actually pretty decent. They've improved a lot since the last time I watched or heard them live. But I need to spend more time kidnapping moriyama_umi or something. Actually, I think everyone wants to spend more time kidnapping moriyama_umi. XD
• I think asianschoolboy might really like the infrared camera stuff.
• Dig Jelly still rocks.
• At least the masquerade had 3 times the entrants this time as last time. Congrats to burmecian_storm and xkokuux for getting best craftsmanship journeyman class.
• kamuishirou1999's camera weighs a metric ton, and is harder to use than a UNIX system under the duress of hunting raptors (oh wait). But damn is that lens of his sweet.
• How the hell didn't I know that a Misty May masspro figure existed? Damnit, my otaku license ought to be revoked for that one. Obviously, I've fixed that oversight.
• One of pikminlink's 1-UP mushrooms is now adorning my center rear view mirror. I believe that might be worth 15 geek points or something. :D
