First of all- yes, you COULD say religion is anything that gives you hope to keep you living, but not to THAT extent. It's not true that without religion, a person will just go and kill themselves because they have no point to live. There's the animal side of the human being that is responsible for survival that has to be killed off too before a person becomes a thing with no will to keep living

I'm not a stupid bum...I have a home, therefore I am not a bum. Heart problems run in my family. My older sister had a heart attack at the age of 6 and whatever ilness shes suffered, I've also suffered. Its not very likely, but theres the possibility.
