Ran out of the tacky paper that you use to put down on shelves in the kitchen... poooooop.
Cat's seem to LOVE the sun room... Tiber seems to worship the sun, while I think Vlad is just keeping tabs on me, he tries to stay in the coolest part of the room, and pants. Both cats seem to be my shadow these past few days... I know Vlad was REALLY worried about having to stay in the cat carrier so long while we were moving... He had to be truamatized from being at the pound. He's been so affectionate when He realized that he's staying with us. Follows me closer than Tiber does, been laying at my feet or behind my chair, everytime I get down on the floor he's right there purring in my face.
So Update of unpacking:
Benji's room is still at 95% done...
Our office is still at 85% done...
Our bedroom is still probably 65% done,
Bathroom 1 (1/2 bath downstairs) is 65%
Bathroom 2 (full bath upstairs) is 45% done
Kitchen's up to 45%, must run to the store today to get stuff.
Dinning room is up to 65%. This one will be easy to finish as the main problem was that it was holding all the boxes for the kitchen and living room.
Living room is up to about 30%....
So far... there's 6 minutes left before work can come in, and when i checked 10 mins ago, there was nothing for me to do.. YAY! at 10:10 there's Nothing still! YAY! Freedom!
The Local Park
Benji and I woke up at 7:30 this morning and headed down to the park, took us 20 minutes to get there and 15 minutes to get back. And this was while pushing/trying to teach benji to ride his Tricycle. Its a great little park, there's a paved circular area for people to walk/jog on, with grass in the middle. there's a small basketball court with hopschotch and 2 foursquare patches. There's two jungle gym areas, one is old from like the 70s or 80s (mostly different type of bars) and the other is brand new, with lots of places to climb on and two slides, and a more complicated set of monkey bars. Today we met a family of 3 kids, 2 boys (5 and 7) and one girl (2, but really tall for a 2 year old! I would have thought she was at least 3) and a Grandpa, I think. They were Chinese and they come every morning before school. So I think Benji and I will have to wake up at 7 to get out a little earlier, since we dragged our feet in getting dressed.
More Cats:
Tiber made the funniest sound when we came back. It's the exact sound that my little brother's cat would make when she was stuck on the roof, except he wasn't stuck. So I'm guessing it translates to "Hey i'm ABOVE YOU! UP HERE!" He could see us out the sun window. oh great, he just threw up his breakfast....
UnPacking: I haven't brushed my teeth or my hair for 2 days now, I can't seem to find either brush :/
Fish: Okay this is really *REALLY* weird. About 10 days before our move I did a water change.. everything was normal... the day before the movers came, Polo and I did some small moving.. fishtanks, computers, etc. One of the Loaches was completely missing. I noticed a few days before the move that the loaches weren't coming out to eat like they usually do, but figured they just didn't like all the movement of benji and I when we fed them, as they'd dart and hide, so I just left, and the food would dissapear eventually. I looked EVERYWHERE for that third loach. In the filter, in the pebbles, in the all the hiding places.. no where... just complete dissapeared. there's a lid ontop of the tank... so the cat's couldn't have gotten them.. I can't find any references to Loaches being cannibals..... And they were all in similar size and age when we got them.. but even so there's no were no peices.... not like any fish could have swallowed it whole.... So I really have no idea what happened here.... the only good thing about this, is that frees up enough room so we can get some more tetras, since they're the only ones that stay out in the open anyways with the guppy.
Neighbors: So far everyone's been pretty friendly. There's eight buildings here. 3 for sure with kids. Our immediate neighbors to the left.... I think its only as big as our place, but there seems to be at least 4 grown adults living there if not more... 2 i think are a gay male couple. The older one seems to stay home all day and comes out smoking about 8X... he's very nice and we've had a few chats, but i just wish the wind blew the other way cause it comes right in my window. They say they're having a fourth of july thing
for all the kids at 5.... Polo and I usually go up to gasworks, but with moving and all the unpacking we need to do still, we both kinda just wanna stay home, plus benji will have more fun getting to know the kids. I know burien is putting on a parade and stuff downtown, so we might do that for a little then just come home and relax.
Yoshi the Lovebird:
Yoshi's doing well. I think she really likes this set up, I can definately let her out more and she has lots of high places to just "roost." I've been hearing her do her happy beak grinding a few times a day and she beggs to come out all the time for pets (although I think lots of that has to do with her new feathers coming in, she's an itchy birdy).
The House: There's lots of little things we need to get taken care of here... there's a few screens we need, there's no guard thingies for the oven, benji's light in his room goes on and off by it self, just little things like that.. we still have the walk through thing, and the Landlord said to keep it for a week and keep adding to it, and while some of these things are fine as is, there's quite a few things we want fixed...
I guess I better take advantage of my situation and keep unpacking :)
