Das Pope
Lol. So Joseph Cardinal Ratzinger is now Pope Benedict XVI. When I first heard, I recalled the Investiture Conflict in the 13th century and found the idea of a German Pope amusingly ironic. I guess it has no bearing today, but I still laughed. Anyway, he's supposed to be pretty right wing, but apparently still a great guy. I get images of US soldiers painting red crosses on their body armor and ripping into Mesopotamia like a fat kid into a box of smarties. That would be uncool in a lot of ways. But it would also be kind of cool in the way the Knights Templar were cool, as in badass and scary cool. Yeah, that kind of cool. Sagat is jumping for joy at the new Pope! And I bet, somewhere, so is Jesus.
