MY DEAR FRIEND Children's Book author, CYNTHIA LORD once shared a New Year's "superstition" or something like that. It went that what you did on January first of the new year was what you will do for the year.
I remember two days ago, laying in my bed in those moments before you arise thinking about all the things I was going to do that day to accomplish that goal and set the new year right!
I started out pretty good. After a few morning chores, I began framing some new "never-before-seen" illustrations to include in my show at the hospital that was going to be hung the next day. Like I said, I made great progress. I broke for lunch and headed back to finish up but suddenly felt "nappish."
So, I did.
Cancer's really messed with my naps now. They're not the "one-hour energizers" they used to be. They're longer, much longer. And I'm not a ball of energy upon arising. That sucks.
So, I did finish the framing. Early the next day. And I never got around to to drawing with ink and colored pencil. Working on my graphic-poem. Emailing my bandmates about a musically inspiring documentary I saw.
None of that other stuff that was on my "New Year To-Do List."
Oh well. My show is up thanks to MJ and KJ and Wally. And today, I updated my website (that was on my list). 'Guess that's my new year-getting there eventually
Hope you all have a GOOD ONE!
