ON THIS DAY IN 1964 "The Addams Family" debuted. This situation comedy was inspired by Charles Addams cartoon characters. Like most kids my age, I was a big fan of the show. In fact, when I finally saw Addams' cartoons, I thought the inspiration "was the other way around."
When I described and illustrated the scene where my nun calls my little sister to my classroom to turn over some incriminating evidence to be delivered to my mother, I knew my sister HAD TO BE rendered as the devilish Wednesday Addams!
