The Boondoggles' Day in The Park

It was a beautiful Day at Energy Park...
Look there's a woman with a towel over her head...
And there's a man who really should put some sunblock on...

But what's that? Way over to the right? Up on stage?

It's a band! And a man with a funny hat! He's playing a bass guitar.

And there's the drummer who's laughing at the man in the funny hat!

But the guitarist isn't laughing or looking at anyone. He's just playing his guitar!

And the singers are very serious too! That one singer belts it out one minute...

...and "oooo's" so sweetly the next!

This guitarist (and sometimes accordionist) thinks it's wise to stand WAY over here!

Here's a kid (that nobody knew) who wanted to play with the band!

But there were kids (and dads) that we knew....

And folks from work that we knew too....

And there were friends and family (and moms, too!)...

There were LOTS of happy people we knew out there on that beautiful day...

Is the promoter not happy? He should be!

His wife--the Stage Manager--did a fine job and....

"What's that?" the guitarist (and sometimes accordionist) said.

"OH MY GOD! It's a TRAIN!!!" he shouted. The singer just laughed.

Yes, that's right! Energy Park was once a train depot...
It doesn't depot no more but that doesn't stop the train from coming through!

So, the man with the funny hat says,
"Everybody sing along:
I hear that train a-comin', It's comin' 'round the bend..."

And they did!

The end.
