Last night's meeting of the WESTERN MASSACHUSETTS ILLUSTRATORS GUILD was a "wild" night! Laura
laurajacquesart and Nicole
ch0c0late_elf were in attendance. They can back up my story.
Maybe because it was a Diane's Amherst house. It such a cool house! A museum. A gallery. So centrally located to all the members. And maybe it was the "pot-luck" dinner. Starving artists love to eat!
Whatever the reason. It was well attended. It was packed! And somewhat noisy and wild.
So, I don't really know what everyone thought of the things I brought for "show-and-tell" (the Katrina Benefit logo; a printout of "Party '64"; the Equinox book and my Post-it sketches for Splash)....
I saw a "thumbs-up" from Ruth Sanderson for the cover (she also said "YES!" when I announced I was writing a story). Diane De Groat asked for verification on one of the people in "Party '64" (Richard Burton). Bob Marstall and Gary Lippincott joked about the archivalness of Post-its and "bad timing" writing Children's books (respectively). Other than that I didn't hear much else.
Oh well, I had a most enjoyable evening with a wild group of illustrators!
