[She had to look it up, but apparently Canada Day is real. There was a meeting today (and school's out) but she opts to just see Anne when she sees her. She has a little gift in her purse today just for today because it turns out that it's, well. Today. When she sees her around she'll get to it then]

[ anne is sitting out in the green-space east of house sixteen -- a checkered blanket spread out upon the grass and a little basket sat next to her. being from a time before july 1st was called 'canada day', anne is having her own peaceful little 'dominion day' celebration -- after all, it's a country that is hardly a country at all. not yet. but anne has very idealistic hopes for her fledgling nation.

she is pulling an apple free of her basket when she sees haruhi on the path. immediately, she lifts a hand and waves. rather frantically -- excitedly! ]

[Haruhi waves back, pleased to see the girl in high spirits. This'll be easier than she though. She makes her way on over and just slides into a seat next to her on the blanket]

Are you enjoying this fine day, Haruhi? I thought I might have a picnic but everyone at home was busy -- but I think a picnic is just as good by yourself, really.
