My AP magazine came in today. Paramore got Band Of the Year. Which is awesome.
But they did this public survey thing about Best Album of 07 and Worst Fashion Sense of 07.
There's tons of categories.
So of course, everyone hates on Fall Out Boy.
They won:
Band Who Should Immeadiately Break up
This one made me laugh. Just because they use the "Sell-out" excuse. And I quote: "The second you cut a record with Jay-Z and start dating Ashlee Simpson, you've sold out. The music is not like it used to be."
Ha.
Runners up in this category were:
1. Nickelback - (and personally, I'm all for that)
2. Panic! at the Disco - (WTF seriously?)
3. Good Charlotte
Most Disappointing Album
Once again, we're selling out. And I quote: "They completely sold out-I'm almost ashamed to say that they were my favorite band three years ago,"
Then don't say it, mmkay?
You should like or dislike a band for their music, right? Not their level of success.
You need to think up a better excuse. This one is old.
Musician I'd Hang For Crimes Against Fashion - (Pete specifically)
"I simply hate his attire!"
So? What really made me laugh was that Hayley Williams was a runner up in this category, but she won Musician With the Best Fashion Sense. People who think that Hayley has a bad fashion sense should hang themselves. She is the only person who can pull off over-all shorts. :)
AP Sucked For Putting______On The Cover
The excuse for this one was that Fall Out Boy doesn't need any more press coverage.
So they swept most of the negative categories, but the funny thing is, they got most of the positive ones too:
1. 4th runner up for Band of the Year
2. TAI was a runner up for Album of the Year
3. Alan Ferguson was second for Director of the Year ("I'm like a lawyer" "A little less 16 Candles" etc) ; First place going to Mark Webb (of "Teenagers" and "I don't love you", etc by MCR).
4. Pete got second place (under Hayley Williams) for Person I'd Most Like To Switch Places With For a Day.
5. Our dear Patrick Stump got second place for Best Vocalist, under Anthony Green of Circa Survive.
Just admit it kids, you love them.
You hate Pete's fashion sense, but you want to fucking be him.
Fuck what everyone else thinks, I love them. If you have issues with that, fine. I don't bitch at you about what you like.
The entire article made me laugh, because I really don't care what other people think about the music/bands that I like. But all the quotes that readers sent in were so angry. Who knew that Pete dating Ashlee was a national crisis? Seriously...
