wow, i love apple right now. yesterday they told me that it would take about a week and cost $800 to fix everything. then about two hours after they told me that, they called back. turns out after taking a second look, they don't need to ship it out and do that repair. it'll be $100 and i was able to pick it up this morning.
honestly, i feel like most corporations would have gone ahead and done the repair and charged me just because i had already given my consent. they just got a big thumbs-up in my book.
