Authors Notes: Set in my paranormal 'verse (which needs a name desperately) All you need to know so far is that Lester is a vampire who turned Ryan to save his life which lead to them getting together.

Lester had told him to keep quiet and only speak if asked a direct question, but Ryan couldn't just stand by and listen to the council's condemnation against James for the unauthorised turning that saving Ryan's life without a word.
Luckily his impassioned defence and willingness to agree to the councils terms saved them from an official reprimand, just.
Ryan wasn't clear what that meant but James paled.
Later, he apologised.
"I do appreciate your defence, but you don't know the council or my history with them. It could have gone terribly wrong."
"I'm sorry."
"Thank you." Lester replied quietly.
