Hey! I've been awfully quiet here lately so maybe I should ramble an update. Feel free to skip it if it gets too rambly :P ( Read more... )

Ugh it is - thanks.

Yeah - it's every day D: My oldest never went to public school a day in his life - so it really is new for me! But CR is really thriving on it . He is four and had delayed speech, so he was seeing a speech therapist which led to preschool placement and he is such a social kid, he's eating it up. I have to pick him up a little early because of our work schedules and it's just adorable to see all these little boys run up and hug him goodbye! *_*

my youngest did speech therapy this year, too. he's 8 now, though. they wanted us to put him in school, but i think that's the general push. he's a different kettle of fish. he loves people, but he gets very anxious about understanding and being understood. a classroom would not work for him. we are just enrolling him in some big group stuff (drama, sports etc) as a compromise to gently give him time with it, and it's working well for him.

um. that's blathering at you. :P i'm glad CR is having a good time.

Oh yes -my oldest was the same - or well similar - he didn't need speech therapy but I swear 'The Sensitive Child' was written about him. He just couldn't cope -everything overwhelmed him.
I guess my family gets to be a textbook example of different kids needing different things! It's weird if you look at their same age pictures side by side- they look like identical twins,(and they were born on April 20th and 21st respectively) but in so many ways they couldn't be more different.

it's my favourite thing about parenting. asking 'who are you?' each day and waiting to see what the answer is. :)
