History Looks Good On You : a rec list
Bandom loves historical roleplay! Who hasn’’t had the urge to dress Gerard up in Edwardian ruffles, or make Ryan the hippie he truly wishes he was?
Here in no particular order is my list of the sexiest, the most fun, although not necessarily the most historically accurate- after all that’s not the point is it ?
This is by no means exhaustive just a few of the ones I have enjoyed collected for my kink_bingo square "historical roleplay"

In response to the harlequin_bands challenge: Swept from her dismal present in the 1990s (facing unemployment and the singles scene), Phoebe Turlow takes a wrong turn at a hotel (while attending a “free” vacation in the Caribbean, sponsored by a condo company) and winds up in the seventeenth century in the company of a sexy, witty pirate named Duncan Rourke. As if Rourke does not have enough to do fighting the British in the American Revolution, he has to determine whether short haired, strange speaking Phoebe is a spy, a witch, or worse. Instead, he falls in love with her. this one is a LOT of fun :)
3. It’s Written On The Wind (It’s Everywhere I Go) by

‘60’s au complete with Beatles! Ryan/Brendon, Jon/Spencer
It’s the Spring of 1967, and the last thing Abbey Road intern Ryan Ross expects, or even wants, is to become instantly attracted to a guy - let alone a session musician named Brendon with a bad habit of not knowing when to give up. It would be a very, very bad idea, and Ryan’s determined to avoid it (and him) at all costs. A tale of scarves, Carnaby Street, music, and falling into something rivaling a Burt Bacharach Standard. Swoon worthy

Based off of Bye Bye Birdie, in which Frankie is a teen idol, Gerard is his manager, and Spencer is not a girl. so kind of a late 50's au? this one is fun!

Who could resist cowboy Bob? and damsel in distress Ryan? There are so many roleplay tropes here you could just swoon. (and gay cowboy Ryan is canon so... &hearts:)
