“We need a diversion. We don’t need them to see us yet.”

“Easy enough,” Jacob remarked. He turned swiftly as the DOSA agents’ footsteps pounded closer and grabbed Flynn by his collar.

“What are you doing?!”

“Eve, forgive me,” Jacob murmured with a smirking grin. Then, to Flynn, he offered a quick, five-word explanation: “Oldest trick in the book.” He slammed his mouth down onto Flynn’s and was pleasantly surprised when the older Librarian didn’t rebuff him. Instead he welcomed him, his mouth sliding easily open underneath Jacob’s hungry onslaught. Jacob deepened their kiss, drinking of his secret crush both hungrily and swiftly as DOSA ran on by.

Flynn pulled Jacob backward into the shadows just as their General ran pass them, also without noticing them except to see, with a roll of her eyes, that it was two men making out. Jacob started to let up once she was gone, but Flynn grasped his collar and kept him pulled down against him. Only when he was absolutely certain that there were no more agents heading their way, a good five minutes later, did Flynn finally let him up. His lips were already bruising as his eyes sparkled with mirth. “You’re explaining this one to Eve.”

“If she finds out.” Jacob grinned, dropping back and still breathing hard. He licked the Flynn’s lingering taste on his lips as his eyes sparkled back at him. “It’ll be worth the asskicking.”

“You think so?”

“Oh, yeah. Besides she’ll understand. It is the oldest trick in the book.”

“She’ll want to know why we didn’t use something else.”

Jacob shrugged his muscular shoulders, and Flynn pressed his lips together to keep from allowing temptation to growl inside of his hot, yearning mouth. “We didn’t exactly come prepared.”

Flynn wondered if Eve would buy the explanation. He had never meant to betray her, and it wasn’t a true betrayal. It had worked to get DOSA to overlook them. Not for the first time, he also wondered if she might even consider including Jacob on their times together, or if there was any way they were not going to both get their butts kicked soundly as they headed home. “Say, Stone,” he spoke slowly with a tempting grin, “if Eve was to be interested in a . . . in a ménage à troi, would you be game?”

Jacob grinned. “I’m way ahead of you.” Eve and he had already discussed the matter the last time they’d gone out together for drinks. He just hoped she hadn’t forgotten and was still as eager to share herself and her man as she had been that night. “But just in case she isn’t?”

“Yeah?”

“I think I hear DOSA coming back.” His eyes gleaming, Jacob grabbed Flynn, spun him around, and kissed him again. Eve had damn sure better remember what she had told him that night, because whereas he had no intention of ruining the family they had found together, he also wasn’t about to let this Librarian go.

The End
