Steam billowed up from the asphalt. The night was hot and sticky, the quick deluge they’d had earlier having brought little relief. Casey turned, hearing metal scraping metal, and broke into a grin as two green, three-fingered hands appeared on the surface. His first instinct was to run to meet his lover, but he stilled himself and played it calm, knowing Raphael would not appreciate his concern.

It had been weeks since he’d seen the Turtles. They had been on yet another of their missions to save not just New York or the world but the whole, freaking galaxy. Relief and joy rushed through him as he watched Raphael emerge from the sewer, his dark eyes quickly evaluating the turtle’s body and making certain he appeared unharmed. There were a few new bruises, one new scratch, but clearly whatever they had been doing was nothing Raph had been unable to handle.

He was about to ask about the others and where exactly they had been when he saw the look in Raphael’s dark eyes. He didn’t want to be asked about his brothers tonight, or even his father. There was one thing he wanted from Casey, and Casey was more than happy to give it to him. He waited as Raph made short distance of the feet between them, lifted him by his old, torn, jean jacket and carried him, without comment or question, straight back into the alleyway behind him.

Before they were even in the shadows, Raphael was kissing him. A memory flashed through Casey’s mind, reminding him how he had teased Donnie about he and his brothers have dome heads and Elf lips. The insults were pretty accurate, but no one had ever kissed him, or roused passion inside of him, like Raph did. He didn’t care if he had Elf lips or if he was green, purple, or polka dotted. There was something about him, and the way their bodies interacted, that left no doubt in Casey’s mind that he was the lover for whom he’d been searching his entire life.

Thunder rolled overhead. Lightning flashed, and rain began again. Casey’s lips left Raph’s as he looked up at the night sky. He let the rain beat down on his sweat-soaked face and smiled through the frenzy of hurried drops. He hadn’t been this happy in months!

“We’d better hurry,” Raph muttered, “before Sensei wakes up and realizes I’m gone again.”

Casey didn’t complain. Splinter was one boyfriend’s father who he definitely didn’t want to make angry. He started to say something, but Raph growled, “Just shut up and kiss me again.” Casey hushed but didn’t shut his mouth. Instead he kissed Raphael harder and with more passion, his tongue driving down his mouth. Oh, yeah, this was definitely the happiest he’d been in months, but then, whatever else they were facing, he was always happy as long as he had this turtle in his arms. He only hoped this time would last a lot longer.
