Alex Connor and Greg Farris are investigative journalists on holiday in Jamaica for a romantic break. Their tranquility is shattered by their discovery of a skeleton in the wreck of a light aircraft. From then on, this confident and raunchy thriller never lets up, combining car chases, drug smuggling, hurricanes and plenty of sex.
I read Mel Keenga's 'Storm Tide' back to back with 'Ice, Wind, and Fire', both books were an enjoyable read. However I found that the character's in 'Ice, Wind, and Fire' came across as being somewhat more realistic than, Sean and Rob from 'Storm Tide'.
One of the things that appealed to me about this book was the Hardy Boy aspect of it. Only where the Hardy Boy's are all grown up and there is nothing platonic between them. Lol, there was even a guy who's last name was Hardey in the book... Spelled differently but it amused me, unfortunately he had to go and die and I liked him. He didn't have much of a chance to become a big character before he kicked the bucket.
I've enjoyed reading Mel Keegan's work over the years. I have updated versions of many of his books though this is not one of them. What I like most about Keegan's work, is that he has a way of combing plot, good characters and fun sex scenes all into one book. Too many authors focus on one or the other to the detriment of their work. All in all, 'Ice, Wind, and Fire' is a fun book to read all the way around.
