Favourites from E3!

I won't mention games that I didn't get a chance to play, but I'm really excited about the Wii and Spore. I just wasn't willing to stand in line for a quarter century.

Every Extend Extra (PSP)--Overlooked by most people, this was probably my favourite game of the entire show (that I got to play, anyway). Remiscient of Asteroids and Geometry Wars, but instead of shooting, you simply blow yourself up and try to take as many of your enemies with you as you can. The better your combo and such, the more ships you get to blow up. Simplicity itself, and absolute genius. By the Q Entertainment team... The guys from Lumines and Meteos! (It even supposedly has an interactive audio, but I couldn't hear that.)

Heavenly Sword (PS3)--Absolutely nothing revolutionary here, but the combat system is both intuitive and has some depth from what I could tell. The game looks very pretty, also.

Guitar Hero 2 (PS2)--Rock on! It's more of the same but that isn't something I would complain about. I loved the first game and the additions (especially "co-op" mode where you each play a part and are supposed to play together like a band) kick ass.

Point Blank DS (DS)--This was so much fun to play! Very well done, a game that is simplicity itself, simply a target shooter (or tapper, in the case of the DS). It's clean, simple fun that I imagine I will be doing a lot during long travels.

Other games I liked: Street Fighter Alpha Anthology (PS2), DDR Universe/Supernova (various), Megaman ZX (DS)...

There were more but I can't think of them right now...
