We got up way early so I could stand in line for the Nintendo Wii. However, when we got there (about 9:30) the line was already so long that standing in it just wasn't sensible. I think I walked a good 2 minutes along the line of people waiting, and I hadn't even reached the end yet. I heard that if you get into that area, you can stay as long as you want, which is probably why the line was that long.
We met up with a couple of people, most of them friends of Nick. One guy was called Chris Tang. He used to do a lot of work for Capcom, but now he's basically got his own development team that he can do whatever he wants with. Capcom will do the promotion/distribution for him, most likely, so that's pretty awesome. He is working on a PS3 game that he can't really talk about, but the good part is he doesn't have an audio solution yet. He wants to licence some tracks, but he also wouldn't mind outsourcing some of the music/sfx. I got his card and I'll email him after the show.
Another guy Nick ran into was Jay. They just knew eachother from college, and Jay dropped off the map for 5 years. Well, it turns out he was part of the building grounds of GANG. He had some juicy gossip which I can't repeat here, but it was very interesting to hear him talk, and he seemed like a really nice guy.
After the show we went to a restaurant with a bunch of guys--Ian, Nick, Joe, James, Junko (who does localisation for Namco/Bandai), and Jen (lots of J's!). The food was really good, it was some kind of curry restaurant. Then we went on to a karaoke place, where Joe stole the show. I did manage to get up and sing Can't Take My Eyes Off Of You, and drink a lot of beer.
We went back to Ian's hotel where I talked a bit with Mat. I got pretty tired at that point but I did meet a guy called Drew who had a huge black foot in his room. For some reason.
Today we're just taking it easy.
