Space, the Final Frontier

If you have doubts about the new Star Trek, take it from someone who ran around the garden pretending to ‘have the bridge’ when she was 10. THIS is awesome.

It has plot, it has action, it has beautiful SFX, it has heart & soul & humour and a true respect for the characters - it is just amazing.

And oh my, the actors. There was one shot where the sheer similarity of Zachary Quinto to a 1966 Leonard Nimoy was downright eerie. It was also, despite focusing somewhat on Kirk and Spock, a wonderful ensemble film where every member of the original crew got a chance to shine.

The list of things I loved about it is very long, and I am sure I’ll go and see I again. And there were several moments where sheer nostalgia, and love for the myth and the fandom and the legend (45 years and still going strong!) brought tears to my eyes.
