Quick question (hardware related)
I have a lovely new Samsung Syncmaster 223BW TFT-monitor. It is large, it has great colours, it is very, very shiny. However, know how you get lighter bits at the edge of most TFTs?
I have a big brighter spot right in the middle of the left side of the screen. Seriously, it's as big as my palm. It's not really noticable when I'm on the net or working in Word, but it *is* very noticable when watching TV. I just tried to watch an episode of Hustle and with the darker lighting there is a very distracting light shimmer there. Can I make this go away somehow? Is there some method of calibration I don't know about? Because I'll gladly accept bright edges, but not bright spots in the middle of the screen.
