Gibbs was in his basement, nursing a bottle of bourbon. He sighed as Tony's words swirled around in his brain. He couldn't even bring himself to work on the boat. He had known the boy was in trouble, but he hadn't known exactly how much trouble. And the worst of it was the way Tony's bright green eyes were filled with the fear of rejection, like Gibbs would fire him on the spot. Did the man really think that little of him? Or was it Tony's previous experiences that led him to believe it?

Gibbs' blood boiled at the thought of someone carelessly firing Tony. Tony had a terrible disease, yes. No one could argue that point, but it never seemed to affect him at work. He was still one of the best agents Gibbs had ever had, and he was only two months in. He was handsome, incredibly charming, clever, sweet, funny, and smart, although he'd like to hide it. Gibbs had wanted him since he'd first laid eyes on him in Baltimore and the feelings had only cut deeper into him after he got to know the young agent. And yet, Tony seemed to think no one wanted him, least of all Gibbs.

Gibbs blinked at that little revelation.

Even with finding out that Tony was positive, Gibbs' feelings hadn't ceased. In fact, that little bit of information pulled incessantly at the part of him that wanted to protect people. And Tony was completely clueless.

Gibbs took a swig from his bottle of bourbon, before abandoning it. He raced up the stairs and snatched the keys off of the dining room table.

Tony was sprawled out on his couch, in a tank top and sweats, flipping through TV channels absentmindedly. He started slightly when there was a knock on his door. He got up and opened the door without thinking.

"Boss?" He said surprised, as Gibbs pushed his way into his apartment. A trickle of fear went through him, and he turned quickly and followed Gibbs. "What...shit I knew this would happen!" Tony said, his mind starting to go through the different scenarios of why his Boss would be in his apartment, and most of them ended in him being fired. "I knew you would start to re-think not firing me, but please Boss, please! I love this job; I'll do anything to keep it! Just please don't fire me, I swear I'll-"

Tony was cut off as Gibbs' hand quickly smacked him on the back of the head. Tony winced slightly and scowled at Gibbs. "Ow! Boss, what the hell?"

"Not here to fire you." Gibbs said.

Tony frowned. "Then what are you here fo-mmph!" Tony was cut off again, only this time it was by Gibbs lips. Gibbs cupped Tony's jaw with one hand, both caressing and making sure Tony didn't pull away. Tony melted into the kiss, savoring it for a few sweet seconds before he realized that he was kissing his, assumed, very straight Boss. He got both of his hands to Gibbs' shoulders and shoved him away. Tony put a hand to his mouth, trying not feel disappointed that Gibbs' mouth had left, and failing.

Tony opened his mouth, but for once couldn't find the right words. Gibbs was looking at him intensely.

"Why?" Tony managed to get out.

"Why did I kiss you?" Gibbs asked, smiling lightly, "Thought that was pretty obvious DiNozzo." Tony just looked at him with an unreadable expression. "I kissed you," Gibbs said as he took a few steps closer, "because I want you Tony." Tony swallowed hard.

"But that's...No.......you...want...me? That's not," Tony stammered, not able to wrap him mind around what Gibbs just said.

Gibbs smirked and took a step closer to Tony with each word. "Yeah. I. Want. You." He was nearly on top of Tony now. Tony opened his mouth to say something but Gibbs seized the opportunity and plunged his tongue inside the warm, wet cavern. Tony couldn't help but let out a little whimper as his tongue touched Gibbs'. Tony let Gibbs explore his mouth for a while, lost in the sensation of finally being able to kiss him, before he realized what he was doing again. He broke off the kiss and took a step back.

"But I'm...... you have no idea what you're trying to get into." Tony said seriously. He wanted to be with Gibbs. He's wanted that for a little over two months. He wished they could just fuck and get together and live happily ever after, but life didn't work like that. There was no way he was worth Gibbs attention or worry. "You don't know what it's like. The pills, the side affects, the doctors. Any of it." Tony said frowning.

"No" Gibbs agreed, "But I know I would get you." Gibbs said bluntly. Tony was actually speechless at that. "And you're worth above and beyond what I can give you." Gibbs said, a bit hesitant to actually say it out loud because he was always shit with words, but he knew Tony needed to hear them.

Gibbs looked away, a little embarrassed. Tony was staring at him in shock. Gibbs cleared his throat. "So, it's up to you. If we do this or not. Just, don't think I can't handle you Tony." Gibbs said. Tony felt his cheeks heat up, because it was as if Gibbs had read his mind, which knowing Gibbs, wouldn't surprise him. He looked at Gibbs for a while; it seemed like forever before he made up his mind.

"Okay." He said and let out a breath he didn't know he was holding and smiled, almost shyly, at Gibbs. Gibbs smiled back at him and cupped Tony's head, pulling him to his lips again. Tony smiled into the kiss, before parting his lips and letting his tongue dance with Gibbs'.

Tony could get used to this side effect.

A bit shorter than I had intended it to be but there you go. How'd you like it? I need some feedback!!!!!!!

Also, I have a question...Do you prefer my format to be centered, to the left, or you don't really care.......Someone commented that the center formatting was harder to read, so I was wondering if it was giving problems to anyone else?

(BTW, I was thinking of writing a somewhat smutty epilogue. Thoughts?)
