I Didn't Know You Could Dance Chapter 1/1

Aug 26, 2010 10:52

OK I was inspired by this video-Max and Thomas Swing Dancing http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZDhui3j1ruE (It’s kind of crappy quality, but that just makes it feel more homemade-which fits in with my ficlet) to write a cute, fluffy Gibbs/DiNozzo fic, so please watch the video- It’s not imperative that you watch it, but the story may seem….better (?) if you watch it. If you haven’t figured out by now this is my ingenious plan to get you all to watch my favorite dance video, it’s only three minutes and I think it’s adorable because it’s guy on guy dancing, but no hard feelings if you’re not into that ;)

Title: I Didn’t Know You Could Dance

Rating: PG-13 (for sexual references and swearing, mostly sexual references)

Pairing: Gibbs/DiNozzo

Warnings: Established Relationship, Fluff, Boy!Kissing, Dancing

Summary: Gibbs finds something interesting at Tony’s apartment

Note: NOT part of The Awesome Adventures series- completely different universe

Gibbs watched the door bang shut. Typical Tony. The guy only has to go pick up the takeout and he slams the door, Gibbs thought. That could mean one of two things. Tony was pissed at something or someone. Or Tony was all tense from sexual anticipation. Or it could be a combination of the two really. Either of the latter two suited Gibbs just fine, and he didn’t think he had to worry about the former since work had been good today.

Gibbs waited for a minute or two, just to make sure Tony didn’t forget something, before he stood from his place at the couch. His gaze wandered around the room before it settled on Tony’s desk. Those five drawers hadn’t been explored yet. He walked over to the desk and carefully opened one of the top drawers. Yes, Gibbs was snooping, and No, he didn’t care. He was an investigator, it was in his blood to want to poke around, see what was beyond the surface. The last time he had casually went through Tony’s bedroom, he had found a pair of leather handcuffs. That had proved to be a very useful find.

The first drawer carried nothing of interest- some pens and pencils, some batteries, a few bills and other documents, a couple candy bar wrappers- as did the second one. The third drawer had one other addition, it seemed, porn magazines. Gibbs rolled his eyes. Should have seen that coming, Gibbs thought. Gibbs lifted one after the other out, but it seemed endless. As he was putting some of the last ones back in the drawer, a flash of light caught his eye from the very back of the drawer. He fished it out, then put all the magazines back in.

Gibbs studied the disc in the CD case for a moment, only to realize it was a DVD. He wasn’t completely inept with technology like everyone thought; he just didn’t have time for it. Except for those damn cell phones. He thought. Those things always got him. He opened the case and popped the disc out. On the actual DVD someone had written Prescott-85’- Dance Comp. Knowing Tony, it was probably just porn disguised as some boring thing no one would want to watch. He was about to put the disc back in its case when the back of the case caught his eye. Someone (or multiple someones), as it was written, clearly, in different handwritings, had written- Thanks for making all of us laugh. You’re awesome, man. You’re the movie master. You two were definitely the best pair ;) Good Luck next year at Ohio State! We’ll miss you, dude. - Underneath that there were various names in sharpie, most were too smudged or too poorly written to make out.

Gibbs didn’t know who it was from, but if the date was right, Tony would have been a senior in high school. Or boarding school. Maybe that’s what Prescott was. A boarding school. Tony never really talked about his childhood. He had only mentioned, in passing, that he’d been to military and then boarding school.

Gibbs was torn. He knew he should wait and just ask Tony about it, but his curiosity was getting the best of him and all he wanted to do was pop it in the DVD player. He checked his watch. He had enough time to watch it as long as it was less than ten minutes. If it wasn’t, he could always sneak it out and watch it at home. He doubted Tony would even realize it was gone. Gibbs hesitated a minute before putting it in the DVD player. He grabbed the remote and sat down on the couch.

Almost as soon as he hit “play”, he winced at the extremely loud big-band music coming from the television. He quickly turned it down. Christ, and he says my hearing is bad, Gibbs thought. Gibbs pressed the button to play it from the beginning and was greeted with an interesting image. It was two young men, around 17 or 18, swing dancing or mock-swing dancing to an old song. The quality was bad, but the one in the gray was definitely Tony. He had no idea who the other guy was but, again, if the label was correct, he was someone Tony went to boarding school with.

Gibbs watched it to the end and then started it over again. He didn’t know why it fascinated him so much, but it did. Tony looked like he was carefree and having so much fun. It brought a slight smile on Gibbs’ face. He didn’t realize how much time had passed by before it was too late.

The door banged open.

“You just had to order Chinese from the place that was the busiest,” Tony yelled.

Gibbs quickly turned the sound all the way down, paused the clip, and shut the TV off. He had to wait for Tony to go into another room to get the DVD out of the player. And into its case. And then he could take it home. And watch it as many times as he liked.

“I had to wait even longer because they “ran out” of fortune cookies. What kind of Chinese restaurant “runs out” of Fortune cookies?” Tony said, placing the small bag full of their food on the coffee table. Gibbs just grunted in response. Tony frowned. They had been together long enough to know when Gibbs was distracted.

He gave Gibbs a wicked smirk and straddled his lap. His arms came up around Gibbs neck and gave him a light kiss on the lips. Gibbs had a look of almost-surprise on his face, even though Gibbs had been looking right at Tony. Gibbs looked up at him. Tony smiled and shifted until he was lying across Gibbs, facing the TV. Gibbs started running his fingers through Tony’s hair. He loved the feel of it; it was soft and silky against his fingers.

Tony sighed, unconsciously leaning into the hand stroking his hair.

“Yeah, and then they said they were out of soy sauce, which was so-“ Tony paused. “Why is my DVD player on?”

Damn, Gibbs thought. He didn’t stop combing his fingers through Tony’s hair. “I don’t know. Isn’t always on?”

Tony sat up. “No. If you leave it on too long it kind of…dies, so I always turn it off after I’m done watching something. What were you watching?” Tony asked, genuinely curious.

“I wasn’t-“ Gibbs started.

“Don’t bullshit me, Boss” Tony said, reaching for the remote before Gibbs noticed.

Despite his marine training Gibbs didn’t notice that Tony had even reached for the remote until Tony had it in his hands. Let your guard down too much around Tony, Gibbs thought, One day it’s gonna come back to bite ya. Before Gibbs could stop him Tony had the TV on and had pressed play. By the first refrain of “Love Me or Leave Me”, Tony was red up to his ears.

“Where did you find this?” Tony asked, unable to look Gibbs in the eye.

“Desk. Bottom drawer. I didn’t know you could dance. Where was that?”

Tony glared a minute at Gibbs for going through his things again. One day, the man is going to find something he doesn’t like, Tony thought.

“It was at Prescott Boarding School, senior year.” Tony smiled a bit, eyes kind of glazed, like he was remembering a great time. “Everyone had to take a dancing class. We decided to hold a little dance competition to make it more fun. Most of the guys danced with their girlfriends or whatever, but me and my friend Tom decided we could do a number together, for laughs, right at the end. The guys thought it was hilarious. My old buddy Markus was recording all the dance numbers and thought that it would be funny to give it to me as a gag-graduation gift. He even had all our friends sign it. I think Tom got a copy too.” He finished, trailing off.

Gibbs eyes never left Tony. “It looked like you had a great time.”

“Yeah, I did. It was a lot of fun….. I haven’t danced in years,” Tony said laughing a little.

“Why not?” Gibbs asked

“Don’t have a partner, for one,” Tony said.

“Sure you do” Gibbs argued.

“Who?” Tony asked.

Gibbs merely raised an eyebrow.

“You, Boss?” Tony asked, incredulously.

“Yeah. What? Think I’m too old?” Gibbs asked, teasing Tony.

“No. You just don’t strike me as the dancing type, Boss” Tony said.

“Really? Well, then I guess I have to prove it to you.” Gibbs said, standing up. He replayed the DVD so they would have music. He offered a Tony a hand.

Tony looked at it, laughing nervously.

“You can’t be serious Boss,” He asked.

Gibbs just nodded. Tony sighed and grabbed the hand in front of him. He gave out a yelp when Gibbs tugged him to his feet forcefully. Gibbs quickly brought their bodies together and put a hand on Tony’s waist. Tony, out of reflex more than anything, put his free hand on Gibbs shoulder. They waltzed around the room in time to the beat. They were both completely relaxed. Gibbs knew what he was doing, he didn’t look down at their feet once and Tony could follow Gibbs’ lead easily.

After a while they spiced it up a little. Gibbs sometimes pushed Tony away a little to spin him and at one point, He dipped Tony, which had Tony blushing and suppressing laughs at the same time. There was a point in their dance when their bodies crushed together. They stayed that way, Tony’s arms wrapped around Gibbs’ neck and Gibbs’ hands on Tony’s hips. Tony played with the hairs at the nape of Gibbs’ neck. They kissed, long and languid, for a few minutes before Tony pulled back. He smiled widely and put his mouth to Gibbs’ ear.

“I didn’t know you could dance, Boss,” He whispered.

Tony retracted his head and rested it on Gibbs’ shoulder. They stayed like that for a moment before Gibbs responded.

“There’s a lot of things I can do that you don’t know about, “ He said half-teasingly, half-suggestively.

Tony’s head lifted from his shoulder and he looked Gibbs straight in the eyes. He licked his lips, a look of need on his face.

“Care to show me any?” He asked, eyes darting momentarily to the bedroom.

The Chinese food lay forgotten as the two lovers raced to the bedroom.
