So. Back from LA. A really grand two weeks. So much fun with my grandson and my son. Disappointingly, did not make it to the beach. [Not that we went every day when I was a kid there. So, not so different.] Otoh, got to go on the bus with my grandson to school and drop him off, then go on to my course down by the airport. I enjoy riding the bus in Santa Monica and LA. Transit that works is a treat. We went shopping at Trader Joe's in Westwood, too, and had burgers at Fatburger! Didn't spot any famous people though. Not that I look for them. I'm too much enjoying being with him. And, I dunno- childhood haunts. . . It's just where it is, you know? Not "LA" or "Westwood" or something. Just home.
Now putting together several projects. I could use a grant-writer- any of you grant-writers, or know a grant-writer?
1) Find sponsors/grants/scholarships to fund the Anat Baniel Method practitioner course that starts in March. 10 sessions, 9 days each, over 26 months. $25,000 total for the course, and I'll need living money to cover the nights I don't work, as well. The opportunity here for me to be a pathway for getting this work to PICUs/NICUs is breathtaking. I wish I'd had this work available when I was a nurse in PICU/NICU... when I think of all the children I took care of who would have benefited from it- but we did the best we could at the time. This would be better.
2) Create a curriculum for introducing the idea of Nuclear Guardianship as a public health nursing opportunity to nursing schools/nursing leaders. I've got plans for creating this, but again, could use a grant so that if I need time off work/to travel to talk with people/etc. I can do that.
And in purely comfort-related news: I have lamb stew for the week, made from the leftovers from the dinner my son and I had at Samshimi, Persian restaurant in his neighborhood. Sinfully good lamb shank, delicious rice with orange. . . *happy*
AND:::
Last, but not least! I can haz new scarf and hat! Thank you, Jack. They're perfect. Rich colours, comfortable, warm- and fun! [must charge camera batteries, then pics to follow.]
So, yay! and onward. *waves*
