Good news and bad news for The Road

The Good News?
It's opening even more places today. Boise, for one- check your local listings. You may be in luck.

The bad news?
Fandango are idiots.
These are the reviews they have up on The Road's page.
(yes, I emailed them. Idjits.)

* "...despite numerous strong areas, including fine acting by Viggo Mortensen and young Kodi Smit-McPhee as father-and-son survivors, what we've been given is a reasonable facsimile, an honorable attempt at filming an unfilmable book." Los Angeles Times

- Kenneth Turan
* "While the film is not as resonant as the novel, it is an honorable adaptation, capturing the essence of the bond between father and son." USA Today

- Claudia Puig
* "...this long-delayed production falls dispiritingly short on every front. Showing clear signs of being test-screened and futzed with to death, the Dimension release may receive a measure of respect in some quarters... " Variety

- Todd McCarthy

How do they expect to sell tickets to a movie when they post those reviews? Just from a business point of view, doesn't that seem stupid to you? *eyeroll*

ETA but bless Garret Dillahunt (whom I've loved since Deadwood and who is superb in The Road).

the road, ethics, integrity, economics
