I-Ching:

General Meaning: There is a turning point which recharges you and eventually brings success. It is associated with a turning of darkness back towards the direction of the light, the winter solstice, the shortest day of the year, the day when darkness begins to decrease and the hours of daylight increase. It is the beginning of a turn-around; a time of letting go of the old and making way for the new; a time of new beginnings, and it starts with rest.

Don't move too fast. The new momentum is just beginning; the turn-around demands that your energy be recharged by adequate rest, so that your life-force will not be spent prematurely. This principle of hibernation, of allowing energy to renew itself and be strengthened by rest applies to many situations - recuperation after an illness, the slow return of trust after period of estrangement, the careful development of new relationships after a splitting apart of old ones.

Justice

Self: Justice

True justice balances the scales to serve the greater good.

The card in the Self position reveals aspects of how you perceive yourself right now.

The Justice card asks you to distinguish between desire and need. Justice carries the scales and sword of legal probity, but in her heart she is attempting to understand what is behind the conflict so she can meet the needs on both sides.

Justice is not always meted equally across the board, however. Sometimes one side must be treated differently than the other. The fundamental concept is the greatest good for the greatest number.
~~
Self-scrutiny gives you an opportunity to review and reset your standards.

The card that lands in the Challenges/Opportunities position refers to ways that you can turn obstacles into stepping stones.

With Justice in this position, turn what could be a potential embarrassment into an opportunity to be honest, learn and grow. Let correction take place. This card is a reminder to steer your ship back to the center channel where you can move with the current, the natural flow.

Chastisement is meted out only if you are greedy or, conversely, self-negating. Justice demands an appropriate investment by all participants. This is an excellent opportunity to raise your standards as well as your self-esteem.
~~
Fear of harsh judgment prevents you from being present to receive praise.

The card in the Blocks and inhibitions position points to self-undermining tendencies, areas where you could be in denial, where you could get stuck -- unless you examine yourself and make some corrections.

When Justice falls in this position, fear of being judged as not good enough prevents you from letting yourself be seen. The fear is strong enough to keep you from taking the risk, even if you might receive praise.

It helps to remember that perfection is not possible to begin with. There is no need to torment yourself by making unnecessary comparisons. This card in this position asks you only to measure your heart and its wisdom. If your efforts are sincere and appropriate, you won't merely be seen as good enough, you will be seen as exemplary.
~~
You have a talent for fair and impartial judgment.

The card in the Long-term Potential position points to unknowns still taking shape. It is the "wild card" yet to be played.

With the Justice card in this position, there is a long term potential to solidify your reputation as a mediator or adjudicator in a situation that requires third party help. You have the wherewithal to engage the combatants at an intellectual level.

Through artful communication, you can lay bare the truth and determine just recourse. A new calling may be revealed to you as you follow this experience. Pursue this potential; the world needs you.

I keep looking at this, wanting to finish it. That, and Nonviolent Communication by Marshall B. Rosenberg.

Step by step, eh? step by step.
