It's a remarkably clear explanation of what it is to have to account, ahead of time, for every bit of energy you're going to use during the day, so you can plan for having enough tomorrow. It's presented in the context of chronic illness, which (praise be) I've never been visited with, but it'd work in the face of long-term rehabilitation (been there, done that), or in my case, night shift.
