Oh, they already know. Those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind. (My RP partner, my VAM-wife, basically, doesn't care. She thinks it's cute that I see slash everywhere. XD)

Aw, yeah, you have to join, probably, to read most of the good ones. ;)

Thank you so much! :D

(Tearing Apart was my first, and I'll be the first to admit that after chapter...what, three, it sucked. XD)

Yep. Bammie the skateboarder. And Valo the crooner. (He has that growl that could rival Cook, seriously.)

They totally are best, BEST friends, (I KNOW, right? They're always touching, and they have KISSED, I know a girl who knows Bam and she told me he told her straight out that they have...and he wants a threesome with Valo (and his wife, who, hello? COVER)...

Sadly, the backstory blows. TBH, I've been into HIM since at least 04, but it wasn't till about...oh, 07? That I thought "Hey, wait, those make-the-video things...dude, they're doing it!" And from there, I found Shadow Passion (BEST VAMPIRE FIC EVER), which broke my Vam cherry, and then there's Hergerbabe. Who is Goddess, I swear. She has this fic that has spanned like, five years, and it's STILL not done.

Oh yes. The HIM back catalogue is definite fuel. There is SO much slash in some of those songs. (I have every album, including their newest live record, so if you want some, let me know! ^^)

You should have asked me about the Harry Potter lure, XD. That story's way more interesting. :P

Okay, I will totally bite: TELL ME about the HP lure!

And, let me rephrase my backstory question, then - what is it about the pairing that makes you ship them so and write slashfic about them? Was it Valo, the crooner with his sexy growl that gets to you, Bam's physique, the verbotenness of their liebe, what?

(FTR, I tell the backstory to my Cookleta love on my LJ. It's a ton of schmoop, so if you felt inclined to read it, Be Warned.)

Aaaand, I suppose if I friended you (without committing to the VAN), I would be able to read the locked stuff...? Your scene seems substantially more hardcore than mine (not that it would be difficult, as I am totally plain vanilla; I tried to be a Goth when I was a teenager, but was too wussy to really get into Siouxie or Jesus & Mary Chain), but it seems interesting and I am a curious woman. So...

Um...K. :D

Well...it's a combination of things, really. For starters, if you ever see Bam and Ville, they're happier around each other than around ANYBODY else. Including Bammie's wife. Then there's the completely crazily different personalities that come together, entwined at first by booze and great music, and now just by a strong friendship (and more, duhhh)...and Valo is, I swear, the PERFECT guy. He's like...I don't even know how to describe it. Just. Guh. Amazing. And Bam's like, his antithesis, but they love each other (I've heard that much, as in, they SAID I love you), and it's so GOOD.

Plus, I'm a huge fan of both of their physiques and everything else that goes with. :D

Yes, please, backstory meeee!

Um...nope. Sorry! It's a community thing--you have to be a member to read. :(

LOL. That's what happens when you get into a band whose motto is that they're "too gay to be metal, and too hardcore to be pop". And they become your favorite band.

I actually don't like Siouxsie as much as I thought I would. I'm huge into like, Sisters of Mercy and stuff like that though. Never Land is to DIE for.

Sooo...? ;)

Such a tease :) Friends, I hope, despite our differences.

Thanks for explaining the VAM love; I think I get this more, now, and it does come through in your writing, the fact that they fit together; are *more*, together. I'll be reading more (slowly!).

"Too gay to be metal, too hardcore to be pop" - hahahaha!!!! Think I am going to check out HIM - a suggestion as to where I should start (preferably with the gay, rather than the metal)? Mind you, Cook isn't particularly hardcore. Also, it's cute that your VAM-wife is on board with the Cookleta, because my RL partner totally rolls his eyes at the Cook love.

Re my own Cookleta backstory, the short version is that I was far too embarrassed to ship David Cook/me, and Archie fell conveniently into my, I mean, Cook's, lap. Long version here: http://jehane18.livejournal.com/2659.html

OK, enough of me squeeing on your doorstep about DFCook. What about that Harry Potter fandom backstory? Am waiting...!

I completely am. I've been called that all my life, by admirers and readers alike! XD

Yes, friends. For sure!

Well, I write them as I see them (or in some cases, as I believe they see each other), so it comes through, I hope. But there's a lot of angst, so be forewarned! Very seldom do they end up together. XD

That's directly from Ville's mouth, babe, and yes, HIM rules. RULES RULES RULES. Best place to start?

http://www.heartagram.com/media

That has them all listed. Pick your poison, and there are more, unlisted. I definitely recommend their cover of The Ramones's "Poison Heart" and "The 9th Circle" (Reference to Inferno), which is a bonus track...

All of it is gay. Some of it is cock rock, but it's all gay. Even the song with GIRL in it is talking about how he CAN'T be with her. (I personally think that's talking about how he can't really love Jonna because his heart is already dead from the unrequited.)

Lol, no, Cookie's not very hardcore. He couldn't be, or Archie would be more scared of than attracted to him.

Oh yeah, she's totally on board. When she wants to play scrabble rather than RP (which is why this is so late, btw, we didn't finish till like, five AM, and then I went to bed), she tells me to read "singing porn". XD

*will read that later, when I'm not reading Dom/Bri FatF "car porn"*

Hahaha. Okay! *opens new comment box*

Harry Potter came about because of a HUGE crush on a boy named Mike Skinner. I was only eleven!

I saw (borrowed my friend's glasses) across the room, him and his friends laughing over Harry Potter "porn", in their case with Ginny and Harry (BLECH). AS SOON as I got home, naturally wanting to know what HE was laughing about, I surfed the net for H/G till about dawn, and found I really, really HATED it. I could not get into Ginny with Harry, but I...could get into Draco and Harry fighting over Ginny.

From there it was like, a two step move to H/D (at the time, I was eleven, so gay sex? Hello, not something I knew about!) and I LOVED it there. I started with RainShadow, moved to JustSilver, and somewhere in there read my favorite writer EVER, Miss Jennavere...and wrote a few of my own. (Don't ask for the links--it's embarrassing enough that they're on the internet. I was ELEVEN.) H/D are my OTP in Harry Potter and my first pairing EVER, and they got me into slash.

I tried to explain this to my cousin Bekah once, when she asked me why I liked slash.

I think that your reasoning...that it would be really embarrassing to put "ourselves" with the "him(s)" of the literary/celebrity world is the reason we ALL write slash (unless we're lesbians, and I know a fair few who write slash). I believe that beyond the fact that it is SO obvious they're into each other...we put Harry and Draco together because they're the ideal hot characters and we don't want them with any OTHER girl.

And then, why Harry and Draco instead of say, Harry and Ron? Well, for one, it's incest. Incest even worse than say, the Jonas Brothers (who I hardcore ship), and it's too EASY. Part of the reason I hate Ginny/Harry fics is because they're so PREDICTABLE. Nobody knows THAT much about Draco's intentions, etc. He's just doing what he's told, and who knows what he actually THINKS? He might just be fighting with Harry while pining, who KNOWS? And Harry only hated Draco because of ideals struck into him by his pureblood heritage. In reality, they might have been good friends if not for it (and for Draco picking on Ron). There's unlimited things to do with Harry and Draco that you can't do with any other pairing 'cause it just doesn't make SENSE.

Okay. Rant over...see what I mean, though? And that goes as well for VAM and Dom/Bri and Cookleta and who else...Buffy/Angel...Joe/Nick (Jonas), my hockey pairings...they all have something to overcome to get to where they are. It stays INTERESTING to write and read them because there are so many obstacles between.

:)

Babe, this was a fantastic origins story: you totally wrote a book, and should make this a separate post entitled WHY WE SLASH (you know, from Angel: Why We Fight?), because I very much appreciated and understood this.

The obstacles, the fighting for love, the mystery - it is so much more interesting, too, when one partner stands in darkness while the other is on the side of light (and Cook/Archie has this dynamic as well, albeit in a fluffier RL sense, of course). I should say I much prefer Draco to Harry, incidentally, although I love Severus beyond all else (and all reason, come to think of it).

"We slash...because we're too embarrassed to MarySue ourselves." There are worse credos, hello.

Can I also say, gosh, you are so smart! And interesting. Could I interview you? It seems to be a Cookleta fandom thing, and I lurve it. Tell me if you're too harcore for it though :P

*giggles* Yeah, I tend to go on, and on, and ON. I'm just that kind of person. I never feel like I've explained myself well enough.

(YESSSSS of course I know! Angel is my...Idek. I don't know. He's just like, GOD. Amazing. And the whole torn between being selfless and selfish with Buffy thing? HELLO, EAT ME NOW ANGEL.)

I know, right?! Cookie as the dark, emotional rocker with the checkered past (bartender, hello?) and Archie as the unblemished, completely unassuming youth who practically shines with goodness.

I love Severus too. God, the love story between him and Lily?! It KILLED me. Because I honestly think that he deserved her a little more than James. (And I also get, after reading it, a whole lot more of the reasoning behind Snarry.)

*giggles* Worse, yeah. Funnier, I'm thinking no.

Aw, thank you! Um...yes? You can definitely, if you want to... Never had it happen before, but.

(Oh, and BTW. I'm heading over to post my newest Vam creation, if you want to reeeeead!)

My dear, I see we are united not only in our love of Cookleta and Severus but also ANGEL, because, David Boreanaz? SO HOT. (The series was amazing, as well - I loved everybody's redemption arc SO MUCH.) And, re Buffy's cookie speech, EVERYONE was all, LET HIM EAT YOU ALREADY (because WE totally would, OMG). My last fandom jaunt was the Buffyverse, and in slash circles my OTP was Spike/Angel (like anyone needs a reason to ship such hotness!), but I was definitely also a Bangel in my het little heart.

Love Faith, too. There is this terrific David Cook/Faith fic, have you read it? If not, will try to track it down for you.

(Can I also say that your tendency to ramble is cute, and totally not consistent with your hardass image?)

With that in mind, here are your fluffy Cookleta style interview questions!

1. Do you read comix/enjoy the superhero fandom, and if so, what do you collect? Related question: if you could have any superpower in the world, what would it be and why?
2. Apart from HP, what is your favourite book (or, who's your fave author), and why?
3. What do you do when you go out with your friends - drink, dance, watch movies, hang out in coffee joints, hole up at a friend's house?
4. What is your favourite love song of all time (and why?)? (Knowing you, you might find it difficult to confine yourself to just ONE, so, you may list up to five songs if you so wish.)
5. What drew a hardcore rock chick like you to Cookleta in the first place (and to write Cookleta slash even?) Related question: which is your favourite Cook song, and why? How about Archie's songs?

And, you know less about me - any burning interview questions (since I am now such an old hand at them, ahem)?

YES! DAVID! ANGEL! And I read a few Spike/Angel. I'm a HUGE fan of S/A/B. And BIGGEST fan of B/A. It's just...there gets no canon or better story than a love so fated it brings him back from HELL.

Of course I have! The best ones have already been taken care of. Pri, off_the_ground, lire_casander, slashophile, lady_meltinalle, astolat, nightingale_12, lenariel...I read comment fic and read the fic of all the writers I loved best.

That fic was HOT. Probably the only het DC fic I'll ever like. Astolat is a fucking genius.

(I have a hardass image? O.o I was not aware of this.)

No, I'm not a big fan of superhero comics and all, but I prefer the comics to the movies, usually. I prefer to read the straight out story rather than watch all the theatrics. (Think--Comics: Kris Allen. Movies: Adam Lambert. Both good in their own right, but I don't need the flashy shit.)

As for a superpower? Um. A genius amount of intelligence and no need to sleep. That would take care of college good and well, right off.

2. Uh...apart...from HP? It fluctuates. I'm a huge fan of David Levithan...I LOVE Artemis Fowl (anything by Eoin Colfer really), and there's this book called the Bridesmaid, I don't know if you've heard it? It is fucking HYSTERICAL. Then there are a couple of Harlequin Temptation's novels that I fancy reading over and over and over again, too. (If you couldn't tell, I'm a BIG proponent of true love and all that.)

3. Mostly, lately, we hang out here. Or at their dorms. Shirley (my friend from home who is here at UA with me)and I usually hang out when we have to eat, 'cause homework and shit keeps us busy. We have endless slash conversations. I went to a fashion show the other day, and that was the first real EVENT I've been to since orientation last July. xD. I don't drink coffee. The last movie I saw in the theater was a month ago: fourth Fast and the Furious movie. OH THE SLAAASH. Yeah. And I shop a lot. My grandpa sneaks me money to do with whatever I please, so I go out to the mall and Walmart when I can, when I'm needing something specific, and Shirley and I usually make a day of it. (and I NEVER drink. Ever. No smoking, drinking, drugs. PERIOD.)

4. Favorite love song...wow. Out of the seventy-plus HIM catalogue alone...that's hard. Out of HIM? I think I'm most attached to Play Dead. But for my VAM part of me, I am in LOVE with Cyanide Sun.

My favorite song of all time is Foolish Games by Jewel, and I love that song, for sure, when it comes to love songs. That painful pining is beautifully heartbreaking. And I've been there.

I LOVE the song All I Have to Give by the Backstreet Boys. I have never heard something so heartfelt and self-sacrificial in my entire LIFE, and it always finds me just swaying as I listen. Plus, I need that guy. I'm so fucking broke. XD

Oddly enough, I think I have to put the third down as the theme to Gravitation, (an anime), Glaring Dream. It's so fucking gorgeous, and I really think that the Japanese only makes it better. I listen to it eight times every time I listen to it once. XD

Insensitive by Jann Arden is probably the best, most close to my experience, love song I have ever heard. Have you read that one shot out of my journal? I've felt that longing, that deep need Ville does, except I never had the memories to go with.

And, last? I'm thinking I'll go unorthodox and choose the little known band, The Spill Canvas. The Night Will Go As Follows/Under The Covers. SO beautiful.

(I'm just going to add another, because I cannot NOT add this. The song Mine by Savage Garden is possibly the most incredible love song that will ever be written, and it has to go in there.)

Like I said, though, it's hard. I don't like all the lame ones. Like "I Honestly Love You" or "You Are So Beautiful" or shit like that. I'm not huge into the cliche scene.

5. Haha, hardcore rock chick. This is how I'm coming off to people, huh? Interesting. I am pretty rock-oriented, and I HATE popular music. Stuff like Lady Gaga and...who else. Lil Wayne. Those yellers. Techo-lames. And shitty rappers. I hate them.

But I like some pop. I grew up in the nineties, so Britney? *NSYNC? BSB? Christina? Jessica? Mandy? Mariah? All stamped with a giant LOVE. Spice Girls too. I had both of their best albums AND the Spice World movie. :)

I like SINGERS, which is why I sometimes get into American Idol. I am a HUUUUUGE Kelly fan, and I personally don't think anybody will ever touch her with sales, personality, or natural ability, but I think Archie came probably the closest I've ever seen. (Have you seen the vid of him singing to the AI1 cast? Their jaws were on the FLOOR; if Kelly was amazed, he must be good.) Plus, he and Cook are just AMAZING. Through and through amazing, not just singing. They're unique personalities, very charming, each in their own right, and they fit so WELL together.

Plus, anybody can ROCK. You make your voice hurt and yell and jump around a lot, you got hardcore, scene, all that lame shit. Pop singers actually SING, and that's what I like. And Archie and Cook's music is very mellow, which I also love. (You can probably tell by my chosen love songs I listen to mostly the mellow.) And without pop, there'd be no rock, anyway. Simple fact. Rock would have died out, but there was competition, and pop singers kept turning out to be great rock singers.

If they couldn't sing? I wouldn't even look twice at them in AI. Because I don't get attached unless I like the voice.

But I'm attached. Cookleta is amazing, and not just the pairing. ^^

Oh, and, yeah. Cook songs...I haven't heard them all. *hides* I haven't, because I'm stuck on the AI performances. Of those, though, I'd have to say Billie Jean is the best.

And for Archie, I am SO addicted to A Little Too Not Over You. The other day, I almost missed an exam finishing listening to it! XD

Anything else? Go on and ask. My hard ass won't refuse you. :P

BABE. You need to make another proper post, because the comment boxes on this one are becoming skinny and unreadable! :)

Comix - the Buffy Season 8 comic is great, and there's a terrific one-shot, in comic form, of the Buffy cartoon based on Season 1. AMAZING Angel scene!

Books - Artemis Fowl is great! And, you're a True Romantic at heart - so cute (and reaaalllllly inconsistent with the hardass - but so's the B/A love, ha ha! Adorable!)

Fun - GOOD for you, re the no mind-altering substances (incl caffeine!). You sound like you're a sensible young woman, and it is GREAT you're taking college seriously (because many of your fellows don't seem to be doing that, y'know?).

Love songs - I love that Jewel, Jann Arden and Savage Garden. OK, running to check out Cyanide Sun!

Cookleta - YES, you came across as a hardcore rock chick, principally cos of the HIM and VAMlove, you know? But I get your fluffy little heart now :D, cos you have the Archie album (and ALTNOY on replay, no less) but not the Cook one! I get your point about rock, though, and the thing about Cook is that he actually has the voice to sing rock well, not just with the screaming.

AND, can't find your new story, so you're going to have to point me there, with a linky thing.

After which, I'm sure I will have other questions.

OK, now you need to ask me!

Just click "Thread" about where we started, and it turns into normal boxes again. :)

Interesting...I've never actually seen the comix. I like what Joss did with the series.

I LOVE Artemis Fowl. He's like, so arrogantly smart, and it's hysterical, 'cause he's this tiny little unassuming boy (think Archie, but more devious) who has this GIGUNDO brain. When he orders at a restaurant in the first part of Eternity Code, I laugh SO hard.

Yeah, uh. I am. XD. And I'm not a hardass! Hardasses do not wear Eeyore pajamas and eat Fruit Gushers at the computer by biting them out of the packet so they don't spew.

I like caffeine. From chocolate and stuff, but not coffee. No matter how much sweet shit is in it, at the end, it still leaves coffee in my mouth. Gross.

:D Good! Best Vam song EVER. And coincidentally, it was written RIGHT around the time Bam was getting married. ^^

Haha, my vam-wife says you're totally off, and HIM is completely not hardcore. Too gay to be metal, remember? I don't have either album, actually. I have the singles off LW, 'cause I can't afford albums. The only albums I own that I bought explicitly in the past five years are all ten HIM.

I love ALTNOY though. I love it. It's beautiful, and the video is painful.

I agree. And I'm looking forward to getting more when I have the time to sit down and analyze and song-fic it.

K.

Embiggening comments? *facepalm* ((it worked; thankyou))

And, what is with it with Youtube and HIM? I saw copyright notices galore and removed audio. Fortunately, I happened upon some nice fansite and was able to hear Cyanide Heart in all its brokenhearted glory - and it was actually really lovely. And Ville is an actually beautiful man (a man's man! a tortured artist! who hasn't sold out!); I think I'm beginning to appreciate the love.

And, okay, I'm with the "too gay to be metal", because the music on said fansite is so pretty! "In joy and sorrow, my home’s in your arms"; "The heart of darkness is hope of finding you there/And that hope will be our love's requiem"? So. Pretty! (*okay, runs and hides from cries of "sacrilege!"*)

OK, OK, you're only hardass compared with the other Cookleta folk, cos most of us trip through the daisies singing lalalla, of course. (Eeyore pjs, *really*?? *snort*) Please send my apologies to Vam-wife for inaccurately calling you a hardass rock chick, cos she clearly knows how not-so-secretly fluffy and cute you are ;)

AND, I tried to join that VAM community just so I could read your fic (and I should just say, extremely hot banner pic of your boys on said community page!), and it still didn't let me read it, so I have TRIED to read, bb, swear. (*still huffy from failed attempt*)

(Of course it did. :P)

I'm not sure. I know it's not the boys themselves--most likely Warner Brothers are being jackasses, putting a stop to any illegal stealing. (Even though Monsieur Valo supports bootlegs!) Cyanide Sun, darling, but I'll forgive you, and it is, is it not?! (Absolutely! All of the above, he really is!) You should. :)

Yep! Way too pretty to be hardcore. I told you! :P (*waves* Yeah, you can come out now. No cries here.)

Hahaha! Hardass, still makes me laugh. I'm so not, but you're right, I don't do tripping through daisies. No thank you. :P (YES! Don't judge me!) Lol, we're not offended, just amused. You're probably the first person in my life to call me that. It makes us laugh. :D

(Thank you. The banner is from an ACTUAL PICTURE in a skate mag. Hot, right? :))

I'm glad you finally figured it out, too. My comment board wouldn't be the same without you! ♥ ♥
