Gorgeous, slow build of a story. I love that Billy constantly says the wrong things at first.

Of all the dialogue, I loved this the most:

"What was the message?" Billy interrupted, sitting on the arm of the chair.

"That's part of the problem. I haven't really decided yet, but I know I have to tell you something."

I'm so glad that you liked it. The ideas I had for Billy and Dom fics weren't panning out no matter how I tried but this one finally came together.

I'm so pleased that Viggo's patient unorthodox wooing paid off. It's an unexpected pairing and if I'd been Billy, I would have taken a while to figure it out as well. Lovely thoughtful fic.

It's probably one of my favorite pairings, maybe even second after VigBean. I tried to give my recipient a monaboyd fic but Viggo kept insisting Billy was his this time round. *g*

I think this is wonderful from beginning to end. The depiction of Billy's confusing is so endearing as is Viggo's enigmatic approach to all things. The final scene is beautifully heartwarming: Viggo reached up, curling his hand around the back of Billy's neck and pulling him down. "You haven't given me a key because I haven't kissed you yet." I enjoyed this very, very much! :-)

Viggo/Billy stories are a rare thing, and after reading your story, I must wonder why. There is a creative sympathy between them as two artisitic spirits, as well as a brave, gentle and offbeat curiosity about life. Thank you so much!

I personally think there is so much to this pairing (I guess I would, since it's probably my second favorite *g*). The similarities between them, the kind of 'old soul' quality they each have, and we have such gorgeous real life moments to draw from. There should definitely be more fic. :-)

i'm always happy that you also like this pairing so much; i can't get enough of it. i love that you wrote bill as feeling alternately unsettled and off-kilter and then more quietly sure, though he doesn't consciously know of what just yet. the whole thing is just so very romantic. first time at its finest. beautiful fic.

Thank you! It's very likely my second favorite pairing (with Viggo/Karl as a mega close third). I wish people wrote more of them. They work so well together, and not many pairings have so many real life moments to pull from.
