So much affection and admiration for Viggo comes across in this; it's lovely.

The moment when Ian finds the photograph marking the quote is really well done. It's a meaningful gesture that I can easily imagine Viggo making, just that way.

at a rather civilized restaurant that actually served their beer in glasses

gone in a cloud of Hobbits.

saying it made me feel a bit more in charge, a circumstance to which I am frankly accustomed.

I enjoyed Ian's wry moments like these. And I liked the atmosphere and promise of the last paragraphs.

Aw, Viggo and Ian. Thank you for the story! :-)

I'm so happy that you liked it! I've never written Ian before and really enjoyed it. I really wanted to show that Viggo was every bit as interested in Ian as Ian was in him. Thank you for your feedback!

actually served their beer in glasses

I realized I was studying his face

I never sensed that he meant for it to be so; it just was

the room seemed warm and altogether comfortable

beautiful ian voice; especially loved his account of viggo riding, nggh!, and of his poetry reading. this has a gentle, ethereal quality that works so well with this lovely pairing. wonderful.

This is a lovely tale, with a beauty in the details that made me hold my breath. What a wonderful Ian, and what a charming picture of Viggo - with all the younger actors in clouds or crowds which made me giggle!

This isn't a pairing I had every given consideration to before but I'm so glad you wrote it. The mutual admiration comes through so beautifully that a relationship seems the most natural thing in the world. Excellent work.

The page he'd marked had no picture of its own. It was simply black text against a stark white background. I traced the letters with my fingers as I read them slowly.

"I do not care about my own appearance, but I would hope that people could see into my soul, and that is presented better in these photographs than in others."

I looked again at the photograph with which Viggo had marked the page. The picture was a bit worn around the edges, one corner slight bent as though it had been carried about and not kept long inside the safety of the book. I felt pleasantly disquieted as I realized that, despite the gentle chaos of our trailer, he'd carefully, quietly focused on me.

that. wow.
I mean, it's all wonderful [clouds of hobbits!] but that. the moment when everything changes. hard to capture, and here, done so beautifully.
