Bio and Lit are over, to invariably many people's great relief (mine included). Does it say something that I am worried about being exceedingly clearheaded during the exams? It makes me nervous that maybe my essays would lack insight, and I did felt my deteriorating vocabulary keenly :P
(It also makes me feel guilty that for all I argue that fanfiction is an admirable literary genre, I instinctively fear that my fanfic obsession is causing - or at least contributing to - the decline in my vocabulary D< There are some fantastic writers, yes, but a lot of them are simply average, and not many are particularly inspiring and the range of expressions in fanfic sticks close to a prescribed scope anyway so IDK D: In any case ! After EYAs I need to post up a list of brilliantly written fics just to show that they exist.)
OH. Subbing ! for any and every adjective may also be detrimental to my vocab, y/y?
I went to laceandflora because I saw them in LJ Spotlight - PRETTY PICTURES ~ What annoyed me a little though was this post: The pictures are gorgeous (!) and all the cute furry animals, etc. but the LJ user's comments below rubbed me off the wrong way, because apparently her original post was kind of propaganda-esque and quite a few LJ users commented on that, and following a few (consciously polite) comments, she eventually modified it, I think, and it wasn't a brawl by any means (I have seen brawls and these are not. Nice. To read - there was one really ! one over trigger-y events in fanfiction which elicited a host of painfully emotional events) but what I generally found distasteful was that a community for sharing positive change had this sort of well, negative situations. Personally I don't think she was being very insistent about her message, but all the same she didn't need to link all the websites, etc. because that does make it look rather like a concerted effort to persuade people. ALSO, just as a sub point, all the photos of the cute animals (REALLY CUTE :D) just implies that, oh, you should be a vegetarian because the furry animals are cute! and it'll be sad if you ate them! (what about bugs/insects/etc?) Just - :P Yet I mean, if you believe something is right, why not push for it? I'm not sure if I despise dislike the situation for the eventual compromise or the inappropriately expressed stand (because it seems to me like you should decide on your values and then stick by them), and I can't even decide if I have the right to judge - mostly probably I don't.
I realized that my Chem revision should have begun last week ): I could have borrowed the awesome chemistry textbooks from the school library and go through a fairly comprehensive topic review instead of ... what I'm planning to do today and tomorrow. It isn't that I'm unprepared - the SPA and revision quizzes have prepped the ground for me, I think, but it would have made up for a lot of gaps in my chemistry learning, seriously.
Google Chrome sucks, srsly :P Can't wait for history to be over, dear god. I NEED TO RETAIN MY CLEARHEADEDNESS FOR HISTORY !!
Exams feel more serious this time round (and then again, is that surprising?)
(What is decidedly not surprising is a particular absence today, alright; I have no words, even. Delinquency is cute when it's not in close proximity :P)
