Style-modifying internet to suit yourself

Many people I know are using Mozilla Firefox, which is a great browser I admit!

I love it's add-ons and extensions.

I'm not sure how familiar are you with add-ons, and what they can do, but I'll present you only 2 today, the ones that are aesthetically important.

Greasemonkey - userscripts which you can get here and to download scripts go here
Stylish - user styles which you can download here

Those are small scripts/styles which change the looks, layouts of web pages.

I find them extremely handy.

The main difference between scripts and styles (in my opinion) is that styles won't extremely change the page looks, but only enhance it, like, change colors, change font etc. But scripts could change whole page's encoding and layout.

IMPORTANT: These scripts and styles change your view of the page ONLY. Everyone else will see them as they are, unless they have scripts and styles as well.

Greasemonkey

After you download it from Firefox's add-ons website go to Greasemonkey website (you don't have to register).
By then, you should already have little monkey icon on your status bar (bottom of the page). If monkey is brown and smiling, it's activated, and if it's blue and sad looking, it's deactivated. Activate it by clicking on it with left click/right click and then 'Enable' (if you want to use it, of course).

Then go to the page with scripts and you can click Browse all scripts and then look at it alphabetically or you can use Search and type keyword (like "Livejournal", "Gmail" etc.).

When you find a script you like simply click the "Install this script" button on the top right side of the page. Then little box/window will appear and you'll have option to click Install, View script's code and Cancel. After it's installed, just reload page or close the window and open again, and it should work.

Stylish

After you installed the add-on from Firefox's add-ons page, go to the page with styles.

You have Popular sites to style but if the site you're looking for isn't there, go to Browse all site styles.
Other way much better: after you installed Stylish you should have a little icon on the status bar that looks like a piece of paper with brush over it. When you're on a page for which you're looking a style, just right-click and choose Find styles for this page. Then little window will appear and ask you to install it. Reload page, and enjoy. :D

My favorite scripts and styles
Greasemonkey

Livejournal:
Remove ads - now you can have Plus account without annoying ads and you can have all those pretty layouts/stylesheets. :D
LJ thread unfolder -when an entry has lots of comments you can't see all of them, because they were 'minimized', folded for easier scrolling. This offers you to unfold, 'open' them all.
Livejournal - Kill Nav bar - for those of you who think Navigation bar makes your layout look bad

Plus: If you hate LJ ads and other forced stuff from LJ, check this out no_lj_ads

Random:
Textarea backup - you know when you're typing a comment or a post and then suddenly press wrong button and then you lose all that you've been writing? Well, that's a headwall situation I'm familiar with - oh yes! This will memorize your text and when you get back to your page it'll offer you the text.
Facebook auto-colorizer - colors whole facebook profile according to profile picture.

Stylish

Gmail:
Better Gmail 2Skin - Fe mails - pinky color with bears, hihi
Gmail - bigger fonts - self explanatory I hope :)

deviantART:
Remove ads from deviantART.com - self explanatory I hope :)
deviantART - black - colors dA page in nice black-yellow combo

Facebook:
De-MySpecify - removes applications
deviantART skin for Facebook - applies dA color theme on Facebook

Misc.:
Universal ads remover - self explanatory I hope :)
MySpace ad/annoyance remover - removes ads and all those new boxes from home/login page
Youtube remove ads - self explanatory I hope :)

Explore this a bit, it's very interesting! And if you find some new cool script or style, let me know! I always like more! :D

If you're interested I might make a post with other useful add-ons I found. :D (well, I'll post it anyway :P)
