slash_challenge is back! Nothing great, but at least I didn't have to delete half of it to get the word count!
“What are you doing after school?” Ron asked quietly, laying flat back on the common room couch. Harry was sprawled out on the floor in front of the fire. If I live that long, Harry thought.
“I think I’ll be an auror, get my own flat once I get a job. I’m not sure really,” Harry replied. His voice seemed far away to Ron. Harry wasn’t looking at him, and for one of the first times, Ron couldn’t quite tell what Harry was thinking.
“I was thinking maybe we could share a flat.”
“I thought that too, but I didn’t think you’d want to, and it’s dangerous…” Harry said, sitting up. He adjusted his glasses, and pinched the bridge of his nose. Ron flushed.
“I can take care of myself, I don’t need you constantly protecting me. We’ll stick a lot of wards around the flat, and if we both turn out to be aurors, we’ll have an advantage. We don’t need to share a flat or anything if you truly don’t want too….” Ron said, mumbling at the end.
Harry and him were best mates, it’d be fun to be flat-mates. It’d cut down on the cost too. Ron heard a sigh from the floor. Harry looked over at him, and leaned in close, his lips barely grazing Ron’s.
“Of course we can share a flat.”
