I need to get the word "settle" out of my vocabulary. I "settle" for too much, I "settle" for less than I deserve in so many aspects of life. I think you missed the point entirely. It's not a matter of me not fitting the profile and being insulted and bitter. I DO fit the profile, except,well, I'm a girl ( not an insulted and bitter girl..I have a boyfriend). I wouldn't post as anonymous but opinions of people you know are (seemingly) never taken at face value. I'm trying to covey this as objectively as possible. What I probably should have said was,if those are your standards you're going to have a really hard time finding anything close to a real, beautiful, or otherwise rewarding relationship. Spelling problems?! Some brilliant people can't spell to save their lives-people much smarter than myself and,well,you too. Shorter than you? Ok, that's the "shallow" part I was refering to. I don't understand where this comes from, maybe the days of where a big guy was helpful in mastadon hunting? Maybe from the 50s? "Us girls need a big strong man to protect us and gosh, we're supposed to be the subservient ones!" Maybe it's just a personal prefrence, a matter of base attraction, but are you really going to be blind to a wonderful person because of an inch of two? Is this what love is about? Must have a car? Well maybe this is sensible since it weeds out the guys who are poor or are environmentally concious. Anyway, I don't mean this as an attack, some of your standards are the same as mine but some of them make me want to scream. Are these the things that make a person good? I just want to remind you to be open-minded and eyed or else you just may miss out on someone who would truly make you happy.

Well when you're called "shallow" by someone you might as well have never met, it's nearly impossible to take it at face value.

Yes, because we all know that I am so closed minded to the point of not dating someone because he is shorter than me. THOSE WERE NOT TO BE TAKEN LITERALLY AS A WHOLE, THEY ARE SIMPLY GUIDELINES AS TO WHAT I WOULD TYPICALLY LOOK FOR IN A POTENTIAL BOYFRIEND.
And having a car is only logical because I have never dated someone that has lived in the same city as me, so it would be virtually impossible to hold a relationship with someone if they couldn't come to see you. Duh.

I didn't expect this to be a want-ad, it's simply a personal statement of things I have previously overlooked and should probably hold higher standards to. If you were told by your friends, after pretty much every single guy you've dated, "You can do better", you, too, would start contemplating what you could be a little more particular about when it comes to dating, and look for certain qualities that would improve your chances at happiness.

You sound like a smart girl and all, but you AREN'T ME, so you can't possibly know what I've gone through in dating and relationships, and especially can't know the exact meaning of what I was trying to say in a LiveJournal post.

Ok, so as I was reading over the previous comment, I noticed where you said people told you that you can "Do better." Well, to be honest with you, I have been told that ever since I started dating my boyfriend and also about the other guys that I've dated and talked to besides him. I cannot recall a time where someone was completely satisfied with my boyfriend or guy I was talking to. Don't you realize that no matter who you date or are in a relationship with, you will always be told that you can do better. So, please, do not use that as an excuse for setting your standards higher and looking like a shallow bitch. When a friend or someone you know sees the other person hurt over a guy or girl, they are going to tell you what you want to hear, which is, "You can do better." Sometimes they use, "He/she doesn't deserve you." It is all the same shit. I don't know you very well but it sounds to me like you need not to set your standards so high. You're not anything special sweetheart, just someone who thinks they are better than everyone because you had SOME logic and because you have had been screwed over in the past when it comes to boys and relationships. Just my opinion.

Oh, and this is the not the same anonymous person as before, just so you know.

Also, the whole, "lets me anonymous..." line, let it go. Do you really think people care if they are leaving anonymous comments or not. As long as they are getting what they have and want to say out, thats all that matters to them.

1. It's not a page long.
2. It isn't that your life is so much more interesting than mine because mine is pretty intersting I must say. I was just reading through journals and when I saw your entry I felt the need to comment on it. So, again, there you go thinking you are better than everyone. Give it up.
