I SHINE HOPE
Did I tell you I passed my driving test?!
That isn't the only exciting thing that happened today. I also went and got my CD drive fixed.
I was RIGHT, there was something stuck inside, and they fixed it and gave me a piece of candy AND CLEANED MY SCREEN FOR THE FIRST TIME IN FOUR YEARS all for only 20 dollars. I was like "JAPAAAAAAAAAN" and he was kind of all "Dont you get that kind of service in the US?" and I was all "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT REALLY NO. NO."
I also feel sort of semi accomplished because, you know, nobody at the DMV or the apple store could speak any english, as far as I could tell, so that's some kind of accomplishment, isn't it? I AM LIVING MY LIFE.
...I mean, really. If I can go to the convenience store and the DMV and the mall and the ATM and starbucks and the Apple Store and the gas station and the take out restaurant all within 24 hours without using any english, couldn't I pretty much just live here? I mean, well. I do live here. But you know what I mean.
Also today I bought clothes. New pants for work! Pants that fit! Capris!!!!!! This is also an accomplishment.
What else? Two shirts that are NOT work appropriate, just because they are big square T shirts bearing slogans like I SHINE HOPE and CRUSH!!!!! which I bought sort of impulsively and happily while on a high from having gotten my drivers license.
Oh, also, I'm going to be in Tokyo three days from now...?
Yeah, seeing bob dorough. Yep, that's happening!
So.....yeah.
My brain apparently no longer really processes phrases like "I'm going to be in Tokyo in three days"
I have been in this weird haze for the last two-three weeks building up to getting my drivers license, I guess...
Anyway, it's broken now, I think, but I have yet to crawl my way back to normal...!
