Who didn't seem sad around the time choir was over?
We figured it out...V is like our uncle.
When I saw that sad defeated and yet hopeful little man sitting in front of us all, I realized why I was being affected so much more than the others, and why Athrylis probably was too.
It's that we actually love Mr. V.
He's kind of dumb about some things and he makes some mistakes but he's so talented and he's funny and he tries really hard and hopes really strongly.
He's just like a lovable uncle.
And he is like our uncle...he's known our dad for years because they sang in the same church choir.
We did our first show with him when Athrylis was 8, and I was 11, and it was one of the best experiences of my life.
So so good...
I've been in 7 musicals with V as the director now, and one play....
I've seen other musicals and plays of his that I haven't been in, as well...
One year in hot scots, two years in hitones, three years in choir...
Thespian trips, many jazz trips, that very first improv trip where I met stephan...
Just....every step of the way, V has been there.
I don't know why it seems so significant that he's leaving North...I mean, after all, I'm leaving North too, and athrylis is planning to too, but I associate North Theatre and North itself with Mr. V...and him leaving the school basically makes it not exist.
Why is it so important that he's leaving....
Maybe because...I don't know...he's important.
And if he had already been gone, everything would be so different now...
But he's a member of our family, and I wish him well in the future, and I hope we'll still be friends.
Good luck V...
