The New Word Series 2008 (10/29 & 10/30 - Berkeley/Oakland) 3 Spots Left
Folks!
We need three more teams.
Come to lovely California - or come to The Bay Area if you're already here.
We're* planning a Win& You're In (and then some!) tournament here in The Bay Area this October called "The New Word Series" (if you were around in 2003 you may remember the last NWS). We'd love it if you used this opportunity to fulfill your W&YI requirement for NPS '09 (Florida here we come!). Plus we miss you and we want you to come visit.
Since we'll have at least 8 teams here and we can't leave it at just the prelim/W&YI bouts (on Weds 10/29), we'll also be having a "Finals" or "Championship" round with the top 4 teams from those bouts (and possibly indies) on Thurs 10/30. Yup, you're right - that brings us right up against Halloween... and that means PARTY! We were already planning on having one anyway (Fri 10/31) but this just makes it bigger and better - especially if you're there.
Confirmed Teams so far: Oakland, Berkeley, San Francisco, Sacramento, San Diego & Boise!
Okay, to recap what'll be going on:
-Wednesday October 29th - 2 4x4 w&yi bouts in Berkeley
-Thursday October 30th - 1 4x4 bout = The New Word Series Championship! followed by an afterparty with live music and DJs in Oakland
-Friday October 31st - it's Halloween!! In The Bay that means PARTY! The theme this year is "Hollywood Hot Mess" - that means come as your favorite effed up celebrity.
The sooner we hear back the better. Our cut-off date for entry is Sept. 15th so please get back to me before then.
