Yeah, after I posted here it suddenly started going well! I’ve decided not to post the irritating vote-pleas here until there are 24 hours or less left, because the vote totals near the beginning aren’t that relevant, but this time I was in last place with 9 votes -- the next person up had 11 and the median was like 18 -- when I hit the 24-hour deadline. So I posted this entry and went to bed and in the morning when I woke up I had 22 votes and it kept climbing. My problem is I don’t know whether the vote totals were originally low because I posted right at the deadline, so people might have been reading it last and thus might not have been voting on it until late, or whether my posting to my LJ gave me a bump that created some momentum. Or maybe most of the votes I eventually wound up with were from my LJ friends; I have no idea how many readers I actually have here anymore. Anyway, point is, I always feel stupid when I post these desperate pleas to my LJ and then my vote total starts climbing and I look silly for fretting. But
