Friday January 6 +++ Heading to the grocery store (5:00 pm)

Aug 10, 2013 01:18

Unhappy Taiga rolled the orange ball around in his hands trying to decide if he wanted to go out and play ball some or not. He eyed his new school uniform that was folded nicely one his chair in contempt. Taiga didn’t want to switch schools but his father was making him, he felt the change of scenes was needed for his son for stupid reasons. No ( Read more... )

Neha was in the grocery store, enjoying the fact that she wasn't stuck at an outdoor market. She hummed softly as she put a few items in the cart. She then looked at the large bag of potatoes. It was always her main foe in the grocery store.

She calmly pulled on the large 50 pound bag, knowing from experience that if she just leveraged all of her body weight, she could get it into the aisle. Her mother used so potatoes in cooking that she always got the biggest bag possible. Unfortunately for Neha, that meant the bag was almost as big as she was. She wiggled the bag a little bit and leaned backwards while still holding onto it. Once it started to fall, she adjusted her stance so she wouldn't fall on her butt and managed to get it into the aisle.

Sachiko let out a small yell of excitement when she saw Taiga leave the house. Her sources were correct! She had blogged about the boy after she had met him, and one of her anonymous followers had mentioned a Hamasaki family moving into a house in his or her neighborhood. Sachiko had spent the better part of the day lurking through the neighborhood, looking for a glimpse of the hunk.

She followed behind, maintaining a large enough distance to not be noticed. Once he was in the store, she hurriedly followed, taking to an aisle nearby so she could watch him through the shelving.

Seeing the girl struggle from her viewpoint Riko elbowed her brother hard in the gut. "That girl needs help." she pointed out ignoring her brothers surpise chocking from taking the hit to his stomach. "Go help her then." he said as he continued to shop. Riko gave her brother a look, "What happened to your gentlemen side, aren't you the ladies man?" she teased. "Besides you have the 'equipment' that automatically makes it a requirement you help." Chiko snatched the list out of Taigo's hand and took off.

Taiga looked in the direction of the girl struggling with the potato sack. Chiko was right it would be the gentleman way to help her and if he didn't and his mom heard he would have it. "Crap." He said to himself as he approached her. "Do you need any help with that ma'am?" he asked.

Neha stood up at the sound of a voice and then looked up, and up and couldn't help staring at the boy for a second. Even though guys were usually a good several inches taller than her, she didn't normally find herself staring directly at someone's chest when she was standing straight up. She glanced back at the bag of potatoes and then gave him a relieved smile. "Help would be much appreciated." She stated. Neha had an obvious accent because she put a little too much emphasis on certain sounds, but she was understandable.

Taiga lifted the bag before standing then he frowned. "Hmm I could put it in a cart for you but how are you going to get it home?" he asked puzzle. "You live here right I mean if you were just a foreigner visiting you wouldn't be able to do much with potatoes in your hotel. Unless you were eating it raw."

Neha chuckled. "I wouldn't want to eat potatoes raw. My Pitaa...um...I mean Father, was transferred. We live a few blocks from here. When I'm done shopping, I will call Pitaa to pick me up with the car. He didn't want to let Mummy do the shopping because she's still having trouble with the currency, but he's busy with something from the office, so he couldn't do the shopping."

Neha gave him an infectious grin that invited him to smile with her. She had a cheerful nature and clearly found humor in the situation.

"Well as long as you have some help that is good." Taiga said as he stepped back.

Neha couldn't help giggling a little. "I certainly couldn't carry that home by myself. I probably wouldn't even make it half a block." She stated, amused. "Thank you for your help. I'm Neha Kapoor."

"Hamasaki Taiga." He gave her an awkward bow. "Thank my sister though she was the one that spotted you. Where ever she went." Taiga looked around the store having lost his sister.

Neha smiled just a bit at the awkward bow. She thought it was cute. "Well, if you find her, I will be sure to thank her as well."

"She is probably grabbing what we came here for, I have to bring back some komatsuna for dinner tonight." Taiga said as he looked around the store slightly.

"Well it was nice meeting you Kapoor san." He gave another awkward bow.

Miki swore that his coworkers saved the restocking of the products out of reach for him to do. He was constantly dragging around a stool as he replenished the fresh greens. He could see Neha struggling with the potatoes from on top of the stool and knew he himself could barely carry those things. He used his vantage point of the stool to scope out a different employee that would be able to lift the bag easier, but before he could find anyone, Taiga was there helping her out. Miki watched them for a bit and shrugged. They seemed to have it under control.

Neha placed her hands together, palm to palm, and gave him a smile. "It was nice to meet you too, Hamasaki-san. Thank you again for your help."
